When I passed through the workshop area in the north part of town during the day, I heard from the craftsmen there that a request had come in to mass-produce goggles... but apparently the equipment to be mass-produced wasn't just goggles.
It’s not a final decision yet, but according to Teresa, the pouch I use is apparently also a candidate for mass production.
It seems the fact that I’m always riding my 【Floating Orb】, flying around through forests and grasslands while able to take things in and out, was appreciated.
Unlike a horse, the 【Floating Orb】 has almost no shaking or change in body orientation, and whether that assessment applies to the Knight Order soldiers isn’t necessarily the case... but even leaving that aside, it seems it was judged to be useful.
So, they’re going to produce it with a new design this time, and Teresa suggested I try that one too...
"For the Knight Order’s equipment, the materials will be standard... we plan to use things caught within the territory, but your equipment, Princess, will be a special make using materials from demonlands monsters as before. Fortunately... we were able to secure quite a large amount of First Forest monster materials this time."
As part of the investigation from this rainy season, we’ve been able to secure a considerable amount of monster materials from First Forest and the northern forest, and securing my share from among the high-quality materials is easy.
If you call it embezzlement... that might be true, but those materials should include a considerable number of monsters I defeated, so there’s no problem.
But...
"Right now there’s no inconvenience... I’m fine keeping this one as is, okay?"
The things I carry myself are, at most, Combustion Orbs and potions just in case.
There are plenty of other things I might need... but they’re mostly large, and I keep those in the 【Hideout】.
I almost never carry them myself.
In that case, this pouch, which I’m used to and is a size that doesn’t interfere with battle, is enough.
"But I’m all for making them for everyone. If we ask the members of my unit, they’ll probably give us their opinions, right?"
Most of the tool bags the soldiers carry are the type where you just tie the mouth of the bag with a string.
They’re easy to carry while wearing armor, and in battle you can just toss them aside somewhere, and they have enough room to put things in... so they’re used because there are many advantages, but with a pouch you can keep what you need separate and keep it on you the whole time, so the soldiers probably won’t oppose it either.
"Originally it was something the members of your unit brought up, Princess. They said you were wearing something that looked very convenient... The Merchant Guild proposed to supply quite a lot of materials and workshop capacity, so it was decided to adopt it. Of course, we’ll work out the fine details of the design from here."
"Ah... so it was a request from them..."
Come to think of it, opportunities to see me actually using the things I usually wear are rare even for the soldiers in town.
That’s because I basically always act alone.
They might see it wrapped around my waist, but they rarely see me actually open it and take something out.
Recently I’ve been acting together with a fixed group, so they have the chance to see it, and it’s not strange for them to think it looks convenient...
"...Should I have gone with the same equipment as them too?"
If the soldiers are all going to have it, should I wear the same thing as part of the unit’s equipment?
When I asked Teresa that, she shook her head.
"The functions you need, Princess, are different from theirs. If what you’re using now isn’t lacking anything, it’s fine to leave it as is."
Saying that, she placed the belt on the table, then reached for the metal fittings.
And she was staring at them, clinking the fittings together to check the sound.
Nothing was broken anywhere... but there might be some distortion, and depending on the case, they might need to be replaced.
For now, I’ll leave all that to Teresa and check the inside!
