This episode is a religious experience, truly incredible
One of my favorite episodes of the whole series
I didn’t think my religious trauma would flare up watching anime, and yet here we are. 😂
Holy...... this episode really hit.
My thought was that the Priest is evaluating the greater meaning behind everything, what is "Love". The way I interpret the show is that even Thor's was still working to understand his own philosphy which is why he wavered when Thorfinn asked "but what if they attack you?" Thor's found an answer and stuck by his philosphy to the end. Also Askeladd probably doesnt WANT to do that but they need and he feels no sympathy for the people, still messed up anyway you cut it.
