Rewatching again. The one that hits me everytime is myself not liking the princes weird behavior at the start, then realizing they became like that over the tragedy that happened and to prevent another tragedy. Then realizing they stayed like that for 10 or so years as well that it became their whole personality or whatever. Especially smiling in tears while she dies hits hard. Fishman island arc wasnt my favorite first or second time watching but i think this is my 6th or 7th rewatch and love fishman arc now.

These backstories did not pull any punches man, absolutely brutal 😭. I barely made it through the Queen's death without crying, but when it showed how King Neptune broke down after her death struggling with his feelings of hatred, and showed Prince Fukuboshi saying he wanted to keep his mother's dream alive at the funeral, I was absolutely destroyed and didn't stop crying until the end. And don't even get me started on seeing Jinbei start crying after Nami forgave him, and how Jinbei and Shirahoshi saw parallels to Otohime in Nami. Legit starting to cry just typing this, fuck this show dude. 😭 This arc has some of the strongest world building One Piece has to offer. You can feel the pain of the Ryugu Kingdom so strongly now, and how much horrible racism the Fishmen have been subjected to globally. It hits so much harder with how it mimics the real world.

I love how Jack has gotten more sensitive in becoming sad than ever before cuz you rarely see him cry in any previous anime he has watched even tho they are sad as hell like Naruto🤣🤣

This flashback always was gut-wrenching man, though watching it again definitely reinforced that... Fishman Island fell flat because of Hody for most I think, he never felt like a threat
