Koalas backstory unironically made me cry more than aces death
Rewatching it, I now only realise that Jimbei and Arlong represent both halves of Fisher Tiger. Jimbei being the they can make peace and live with humans and Arlong represents the rage and undying hate he has for humans and after Fisher Tiger's death each embodied that aspect.

This backstory might be my favorite part of the whole arc, it moves me so much emotionally. Fisher Tiger was a fantastic character. Like you said, the fact that he couldn't erase his inner hatred of humans was realistic considering what he had been through. How could he? It's not possible, he was tortured as a slave for 3 entire years. Even after escaping, he was faced with their cruelty time and time again. This small detail showing his inner feelings at the end gives him so much depth, and it makes his story all the more tragic.
Rear Admiral is one step below Vice Admiral in the rankings. In the present day, Strawberry has been promoted to Vice Admiral and he was one of the five that led the buster call on Enies Lobby.
Unsurprising that he continues to be a piece of shit. It makes me mad to know he is still alive with zero consequences when he shamelessly threatened to take Koala back to the Celestial Dragons as a slave if the town didn't report sightings of the Sun Pirates.

Love that line by Tiger, "She couldn't forget being a slave with that mark on her back" ... basically Oda's subtle reference to Hancock and her sisters trauma from the same events.

Hey Patreon peeps! Like I said in the post, the show audio and my mic audio overlapped and cannot be separated for this single reaction. I also am aware of the mic audio popping and a few recordings after this one and beyond should have that issue fixed as well. Very sorry about that! D:
It's ok. My solution was to simply mute the audio of the episode, and just to sync the audio on your reaction to the video. It worked very well.
