I know this is old, but the reason why Luffy can't really have a complete wax coating is because then it would prevent him from stretching.
All aboard the Jimbei and Ivankov fan club :3 I'm sure you now realize why the government didn't revoke Jimbei's warlord status and were still hoping to have his loyalty for the war. They didn't want to be enemies with this absolute beast of a man who can sink Marine ships like toy boats.
12:54 That is a really good point, I never thought about the sea prism nets. Magellan would be unable to make any more poison and would become physically weaker, BUT I have a feeling that maybe the poison he had already created surrounding his body would stay materialized (like Aokiji's ice does for example) and melt through the netting. He might be one of the few Devil Fruit users somewhat immune to a sea prism capture while he is coated in his poison.

I like that this arc ends with an escape sequence instead of a big bad that Luffy has to defeat.
