Ohh, you're gonna cry.
Ahhh its so satisfying seeing people react to this reveal unspoiled
Hell yeah
brook nakama we love him!!
Remember Jack they don't have to return to the capes to meet laboon, if they keep traveling through the grandline, they will eventually meet the other side of the red line and that is where laboon is.
I think at this point, you can safely say that oda does not forget certain plot developments in the story lol. There are still some people today that argue that certain things will never come to pass. All I have to say is "What manga are you reading"?
I mean anyone would forget stuff like that. Creating a world with over 800 Characters and trying to remember all of there attack moves, even if I was the author writing one piece, I would not be able to keep up with all those finer details. What I mean specifically is the narative, the focal points of the story is something he does not forget and he probably does his own research to look back at his old manuscripts and journals to see how things would fit. But Oda really is a masterclass at improvising and planning his story out. Unlike some authors that either don't care or just write things out of the story completly.
Oda is the absolute king of playing the long game with his reveals and pay-offs. Laboon and Brook's story is one of the most heartfelt in the series.
I forget the exact timeline but it has definitely been less than 1 year since Luffy started his pirate journey - a few months sounds about right
A few months seems accurate. I did a little research and found a popular thread of someone who made the best estimations they could based on the information we were given, and by their estimates Luffy's journey from beginning to their arrival at Thriller Bark was about 142 days (a bit over 4 months). For the time between when they met Laboon and arrived at Thriller Bark, it's estimated at 52 days. These of course aren't canon estimates, Oda often does not give us specific dates so some of it is guesswork.
The thing I love most about this reveal is honestly that Oda waited for that reveal for around 6 years. And he knew that fans would remember Laboon because I mean come on, Laboon's story is so incredibly sweet and heartbreaking. Brook has been and always will one of my favorite characters because of how seriously he takes his promises. I mean he went through everyone's worst version of hell, and he endured because he HAD to get back to Laboon.
It was 8 years between Laboons introduction in the manga and the chapter this episode covers.
LABBOOOOOOONNNNNN YOHOHOHOHO
GODAAAAAA
nearly 300 episodes in the making. Oda sets new standards for "let him cook" xD
Chopper, Franky, Robin, and the people who watched One Piece through the 4Kids Dub weren't there to meet Laboon. ...4Kids skipped the arc to get to Chopper faster. 😂
