I love getting to learn more about side characters like Yamamoto, kenpachi and unohana in this arc. Bleach has so many cool characters so its just nice to see

There were several tiny hints throughout the series that there was something different to her despite always displaying a super calm and kind demeanor and being in charge of “the weakest squad.” Aizen seemed wary of facing her dead on when she pulled up on him under Central 46 during Rukia’s execution. The Exequias guy in Hueco Mundo took off once she said “we don’t wanna fight you bro.” In the Visored flashback, Shunsui and some others mention her, and she happens to overhear from behind. When she’s like “Oh? What’s up,” Shunsui is genuinely scared lol. He also mentions here that with Kirio moving up to Squad Zero, he (Shunsui), Ukitake, and Yama are the only captains that have been there for over hundreds of years. And Ukitake is like, “you’re forgetting Captain Unohana.” (This might be when she pops in, actually. Even Ichigo when Unohana was going with him from Hueco Mundo to fake Karakura, when she insisted on going in front of him for a second and he didn’t want to listen, she repeated herself more firmly and Ichigo obeyed right away lol.

There are 3 ways to become a captain: 1. A Captain Proficiency Test where you show off your Bankai, 2. Personal Recommendation where you need like 6 recommendation letters with 3 approvals from the remaining captains and 3. Trial by Combat where you need to defeat and kill an already acting captain in one-on-one combat with at least 200 witnesses. Most squads reject the 3rd method but squad 11 uses it almost exclusively and that's how you take over the name Kenpachi so there should never be more than 1 kenpachi alive

how is she still alive if she the first kenptachi?, answer simple she died long time ago death was just to afraid to tell her
