Kira is a cold MF'er, you finally see it. TBH Kira has one of my fave Shikai abilities easily, it's pretty strong for a Shikai.

How to turn a character from a wimpy loser to a badass beast in 1 episode, the Kira retrospective. Also although we didn't see Yumichika Ayasagawa's tentacle flower shikai before now it was hinted at in the Soul Society arc when Zaraki rebelled and Yumichika fought the 69 face tattoo guy. We didn't see any of their fight just them leaving to fight, Yumichika comes back 1 episode later fully healed and says he defeated 69 guy instantly and Ikakku comments how it's weird he seems more energized after the fight. We know now it's because he must have used his true shikai otherwise he wouldn't have stood a chance and he wouldn't have had more energy after the fight.
I agree, Kira really is that guy here. Even calling out to Wabiske by saying 'raise your head' always been a lil poetic to me too; As if he's calling on the executioner bowing before a prince to do his job.
