yes Ace was the 2nd division commander. He got the spot after it was left empty for 20 years - presumably been open since after Oden.

There were a lot of charactersin the war and Izo was just a small part of it. Most people do not regocnize him after such a long time unless you are reading/watching weekly at that point.

I do like the acknowledgement of Oden's power / ego. Instead of being called one of Whitebeard's children, he calls him his little brother.
Ace was indeed second division commander. In fact, he was the only second division commander the Whitebeard pirates ever had after Oden left them, Whitebeard kept the spot open all those years because he considered Oden irreplaceable.
