i doubt sabo just washed up. dragon i think clearly has some sort of wind and/or storm powers that he likely used to pull sabo to shore. since as a devil fruit user he couldn't go to sabo who was in the middle of the ocean.
Such beautiful and intentional storytelling from Oda. The idea of ace dying but finally being able to bring Sabo the release he probably would've never gotten is so tragic but inspiring at the same time. "You're Sabo. You're Luffy's and my brother." Amazing. One thing I thought about later on is why Robin wouldn't tell Luffy that his brother is still alive the second she saw him again. She obviously knew who Sabo is to Luffy so the only thing I could think of is maybe Sabo told her not to say anything so he could tell him but I feel like that's kinda cruel ?? I know in real time it hasn't been that long since the crew met up again so that might be the case. Regardless Oda is the goat!!
Luffy knowing Sabo was alive would have been distracting for sure and at that point whats few more weeks so that He can till him face to face himself

Ace got his memory back because he read Ace, Luffy and Sakazuki( Akainus real name) in the same article Sakazuki is a name for the sake cups they shared to become brothers
🤓☝️ and another interesting detail its when sabo goes to Ace's grave ... In one of the Manga covers we can see Ace grave with the 3 sake cups (sabo its not seen) ... and that scene was also showed in the anime after the time skip ... so that was Oda giving a huuuge hint that Sabo was indeed still alive 🤓☝️
I know the cover story showed it the chapter Smiley was introduced but I believe the anime didn't ever show the sake cups at the grave until the episode Sabo entered the finals as Lucy.
So about Sabo recovering his memory only when reading the paper ... most likely the paper said something like "Admiral Sakazuki killed Portgas D Ace when he protected Monkey D Luffy..." or something like that .. what's important its that he saw 3 keywords "Sakazuki" and Luffy and Ace names ... Sakazuki its the name of Akainu, but its also the name of the "ritual" where they share cups and declare themselves as sworn brothers ... so thats probably what made him remember he had 2 brothers and that it was them 😭 The actual definition of "Sakazuki"... its just to "Share sake cups"

You misunderstood who the viva card was for. The card was of Luffy, he made one of Luffy for them. Now Sabo can keep tabs on Luffy's whereabouts and health, as well as everyone else who gets part of his paper.
