the bubbles were just the illness expanding..
after dressrosa, i wasnt able to hate doffy. i wondered why and i learned quickly why. while law was saved by corazon and corazon was saved by sengoku, nobody saved doffy. they would have all turned out really bad villains if it hadnt been for this one person saving them. doffy just wasnt lucky enough. instead of being saved, trebol turned him into a weapon... thats why it hurts me so bad. doffy is my favorite villain in one piece and will probably ever be. i cant feel hatred towards him (and before someone cries that im spoiling: jack is months ahead)
I think there was maybe a chance for Doffy, but likely not. Doffy had his father and his brother to steer him on the right path and support him, but he killed both of them himself. Corazon was the person who knew him the best and yet he saw Doffy as pure evil and held no hopes of changing him though dialogue. He was raised in a bad society, but Corazon was raised in the exact same one and he was nothing like Doffy who was seemingly possessed by evil even before Trebol found him. Rather than make him evil, I feel like Trebol saw how evil Doffy already was and how he already had conqueror's Haki and wanted to unleash him upon the world so he enabled him to grow an empire. At some point you have to recognize that Doffy may have had an evil predisposition from birth. Studies say most of your core personality traits are actually genetic, even if your environment can help shape them in certain ways. I think by the time his father tried to reform him the combination of Doffy's inherent personality and poor upbringing had already done too much damage to fix even if he had been found by someone like Sengoku like Corazon was. Some character's are just evil and cannot be redeemed. If anything can redeem Doffy, it would be that someone finally put a stop to him. That could potentially change his worldview, but I doubt it. I think it's fine that he's evil and will likely always be evil, hes a fantastic character and I think he's the best written villain and my personal favorite villain as well.
is the video down with anyone or is it just my page
We all reach that point when we binge one piece, where we start to realize we’re over the halfway point and now it’s just a countdown game to catching up. I remember when I first started watching one piece (they were animating the Whole Cake Island arc and about 800 episode were out) I started freaking out after Fishman Island cause I only had like 300 episodes left. It’s crazy how once you start watching the show, you go from “there’s too many episodes!” to “there’s not enough episodes!” 😭😭. You’re truly a One Piece fan now.
no, corazon states he started helping law because of the D but then because he cared
i love how being close is 400 episodes
I think that doflamingo wearing glasses all the time is tied to his character trait. One piece always conveys emotion through the eyes, implying dofy is emotionless or at least like to be seen as cold hearted. AKA he is hiding behind a mask in a way.
Interesting. I always saw Doffy wearing sunglasses as an attempt to make him less human and harder to empathize with.
Kid doflamingo's voice actor goes insane bro and also I've always thought "water law" is such a sick name. GODA
His name is a reference to history. The battles of Trafalgar and Waterloo were decisive matches against Napoleon's navy that stopped the emperor's spread across Europe. You know who was one of France's allies? Spain.
Doflamingo’s flash back is the only one in the series where it made me hate the subject of the flashback even more. And his father was also incredibly naive and foolish to think that they could just waltz down there and live among them, and they would just be accepted without repercussions.
I like that Jack listed Buggy on the 'D' names. Is that confirmed, or just a meme for 'Buggy D Clown'?
For All we know its just a meme
okay, I know you only watch sub, but I HIGHLY recommend you rewatch that scene with Cora crying in dub. The voice acting is top notch.
I have watched one piece for now my 7th time watching it with you and rosinante talking to law drunk still gets me every time
You might be aware of this by now, since you're ahead, but corazon, pica, diamante, and trebol are titles not names, they are the 4 suits in a deck of cards. Heart, spade, diamond and club respectively.
Watching Corazon try and try for Law is just so sad because he wants to do anything he can for him but just continues hurting him consequently. I can't wait for the next eps
Im beggin you right now to do 704-706 all at once. I don't want to spoil anything so thats all im going to say
Well, It's no secret he recorded them months ago is all I'm saying
every one piece fan goes from "ugh there's so many" to "oh dang im almost out". welcome to the club. for like four years ive been current in manga and its rough.
Cora-san bears the title of Corazon; the Executive of the Heart seat. We heard Vergo was the first and Law was supposed to be the third, hence why Doflamingo was saving the heart seat for him. His real name is Rosinante; shortened to Rosi. Like Doflamingo was shortened to Dofy. The growing "white bubbles" symbolize the white lead patches growing on Law's body over time. (Side note, the fact that this man randomly guessed Law has a D in his name all the way back in Episode 507 still blows my mind. xD)
I love this backstory so much.
Also, yes, Corazon initially wanted to save Law for him to potentially be the one to oppose the Celestial Dragons, but over time, his reason to save Law was because he felt so close to Law and felt bad for him.
Kid Doffy wasn't even hit with the arrow but still whined more than his family
Not to excuse Doffys behavior or anything, but it might be implied that the last arrow fired in the flashback at the start of ep 702 might have hit him in the eye. That´s why we never see him without his glasses. Of course, this is not confirmed, but it would make sense.
Oh boy the next one piece upload gonna be rough
Corazon became one of my favorite characters quickly with this backstory when i watched this last year, it hit the feels so hard man
