Trailerpalooza 70 UNEDITED!
Hey Peaches! It's been building for awhile. We've both been crazy busy with moving, getting Untraveled's new season out, and filming the next season of Bonus Action. But FINALLY we're back to reacting to a bunch of trailers in one video. And this time we've got a few you've been wanting for awhile! Grab some snacks while we react to the trailers for Naria: The Magician's Nephew , The Exorcist Martyrs, Whalefall, Ray Gunn, Hexed, Wildwood, and Godzilla Minus Zero.

Fully with Jay on this one. This Narnia trailer is RAD. As a Greta fan I was a little bummed hearing she was doing Narnia next (I want her to go back to making indie coming of age movies) but seeing the design of Aslan and reading about her reverence for the stories, the inspiration as a Rock Opera (shoutout jesus christ superstar) and the fact that she got STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN (LZ famously have never approved its use in film I think)!! A spiritual song from a genre and band heavily inspired by early 20th century fantasy... for an adaptation inspired by the genesis story and paradise lost...dude it's sooooo good. I'm seated. I'm so glad she's doing something a bit different and experimental for a series that is heavily experimental and a bit all over the place!! So glad social media didn't exist for the Lord of the Rings movies. Some of the whining is frankly loser behavior to me
lolll did you skip trailerpalooza 69??
I believe whalefall is based on a book. Never read. I’ve spent enough time in monstro to never go into another whale
GUYSSSSS PLS DO HUNGER GAMES
Ray Gunn seems like a trial balloon for audience acceptance of AI-animated content.
I hope Narnia gets approached with the same love that Barbie was approached with
GUYS WHAT?! Ive been waiting SO LONG for yall to react to the hunger games trailer that came out the other day and yall didnttttt:(
Jay basically said exactly what I thought about the Narnia trailer. While the vibe doesn't really match C.S. Lewis at all, at least it's being taken in a strong and interesting direction.
I would so love our boys to watch Mike Flanagan’s Haunting of Hill House!
silence of the lambs reaction when lol
I was sleeping on the Day Drinker trailer. Hope it's in the next batch!
I have no strong feelings about the Narnia series ... that trailer made me want to see the movie.
You guys should check out Mike Flanagan, His writing is beautiful and lyrical and he is unlike other horror writers.
Just the awkward silence after the ridiculous concept of Whalesong
Hexed wasn't on my radar but the trailer looked cool.
If you want a Mike Flanagan spooky season reaction, please react to “Midnight Mass” on Netflix!
Mike Flanagan did The Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher shows. He also did Doctor Sleep (the sequel to The Shining) and wrote the script for Clayface.
annnddd the recent Carrie on Prime (and it's so, so good!) (I didn't realize he wrote the script for clayface! )
Technical question: I noticed in this video and The Thing reaction that Jay's microphone seems to cut out occasionally. I don't know if it's because he was speaking softly and was filtered out as background noise? Here I noticed it about 12:03.
You have a good ear, I’ve been trying to fine tune the audio in our new studio 😬 still haven’t gotten it dialed in yet
Mike Flanagan also did Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor both of which are INCREDIBLE shows. If you guys ever reacted it would make my life.
Mine too!
You see now why we kept yelling at you to do Wildwood 😅 Any animation can be smoother the more time you have. But stopmotion really needs the most dedication of all the animation disciplines. I really don't know how they get that kind of micro expression on the 3D printed faces, how many they must switch. On the body it's a matter of time but how do they do the faces? Laika is known to use plenty of VFX, they don't make that a secret, it's part of their style. But the character animation, this looks like it will be a masterpiece. Can't wait to send you the featurettes once you've seen the film.
I am so floored at Jay's superior knowledge of the Narnia stories! It feels like Colbert and The Lord of the Rings. Man knows his IP and respects it, and is willing to see others take a swing on reinterpretation. And the Magician's Nephew has really great sci-fi elements too, so the style can really work if people actually go in with an open mind.
The chronicles of narnia was the first chapter book I read as a small child. It holds a special place for me. my foster mom read it to me and I finished the rest. I like the trailer
Even before the trailer dropped we got a ton of behind the scenes footage of Wildwood, showing off the set construction and design as well as some of the puppets like the big bird!
This new Exorcist film is a little more reminiscent of The Exorcist III. I’m told that’s what it’s following in the footsteps of. More of a crime movie that also are horror.
Yup, scar jo is apparently playing the daughter of the detective from the 3rd movie. And it looks like one of the victims was missing their index finger which was the MO in the 3rd movie.
You can never have too much Godzilla.
so fun fact about Ray Gunn, its been in development ad Brad Birds Passion project SINCE 1995! the scripts been online for decades, its gone from 2D animation to CG, Brad planned to write a comic at one point because its been shelved so much, etc. Brad has been working on this movie since before he did THE IRON GIANT but every time it was almost ready it got shelved due to corporate bullshit (time warner merger mainly). this is a round about way of saying that it was at one point seen as ahead of its time but now its been so long that it feels like the bog standard
Wildwood is as if Labyrinth & Narnia had a baby!
Ray Gunn looks pretty good to me. I got a roger rabbit vibe from it, so i'm down. Also Brad Bird has made my favorite animated films lately so i can suspend a little weirdness with the animation.
whalefall is the dumbest thing i've ever heard of, and i watched the Dungeons and Dragons movie when it came out in the 2000's.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for them to watch Mike Flannigan's The Haunting of Hill House series!!!!!
ME TOOOOOO!!!!
Led Zeppelin inspired by Tolkien and LOTR. CS Lewis and Tolkien inspired and challenged each other. It all feels like it fits so beautifully. Inspired trailer song choice.
Adam you can't bring up small soldiers and have it amount to nothing. What is the likelihood Jay has seen it and can we get a rewatch?
Narnia looks so magically magical. It's everything I dreamed it would be.
Did you guys get into a fist fight? You both look like you got black eyes.
I kinda love that Jay pointed out that Octopi are great and squid are spawns of the devil. It's so accurate.
PLEASE DO ENCANTO OMG ITS MY FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE
Finally Wildwood! Best movie trailer in so long
A future noir with Justin Hammer and Black Widow, sign me up.
Mike flannagan has confirmed the dark tower series im so here forbthat
Early reviews on Minus Zero are that it's better than the first.
Oh no! And by that I mean it’s going to make us cry so much 😩
I half expected someone to burst in and stop stairway, anyway Zeppelin sold that trailer
How the Hell did they get a Zep song.......I can think of only 2 films that have it, School of rock and Thor Ragnarok!
Noice!
