Spider-Man Brand New Day Watch A Long

Hey Peaches! The wait is finally over. A new day breaks for Peter as he struggles with being on his own in a world that's forgotten him. This is the best Spider-Man film we've ever seen, because it's singular in it's approach of the story its telling. Between the themes, the action, and characters littered throughout the movie, we now understand why this movie did so well at the box office.

'Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live' is indeed from the Bible. In fact, it's the 11th Commandment. Yes, there are more than 10 commandments. I'm not joking.

You were talking about how awesome his swinging looked. Most of the Spider-Man web-swinging sequences were NOT CGI. They were practical swinging effects. That's why it looks so good.

Ok. Blatant product placement aside. I still say it speaks volumes that Peter is prioritizing his finances to being Spider-Man and flowers for May so much so that he has to resort to Little Caesars for his pizza. In New York, of allllllll places.

Sara, jean's sister, is in the comics and is such a deep cut I couldn't believe it. She apeared in like 6 issues over 25 years before being killed off in the 90s. Her having powers is actually an unused Claremont idea. When Jean died at the end of the Dark Phoenix saga, Claremont was originally planning on it being revealed Sara had powers, and she would join the team, but was pressured by editorial to just resurrect Jean

The main moral of this movie is one more Marvel characters need to learn: you NEVER, ever, under any circumstances whatsoever, fuck with Jean Grey

I rate this movie 15.5 billion out of 15.5 billion on the box office of Tom Holland who is now the worlds most bankable lead actor in films. Stan Lee wins because of all the cameos, but as top billing....it's Tom

So good. So much fun. Only thing I would have wanted was a little more time with the individual “bad guys.” But I understand setting up Jean and Damage Control and the time we needed for that plus everything else. 10/10.

I love the parallels to Spider-man 2. Peter in S2 tries to suppress Spider-man and his powers diminish...Peter in ABND tries to suppress Peter Parker and his powers grow. Also, canonically, Jean Grey has the ability to restore memories. We see MJ crying when she's under Jean Grey's control...nobody else is crying. Then we see her on the rooftop holding the necklace. Personally, this is my favorite MCU movie, it felt like they finally got Spider-man right. And I love how important NYC was to the story....NYC is almost a character, like it should be. Great reaction!

I saw this film twice in theaters (which was hands down the BEST 3D experience I have ever seen) and so far over 6 times with various watchalong reactions. It doesn't get old and there's almost always something new I notice each time - a brilliant film, let alone comic book movie. It's tied for me with Into the Spider-Verse as my favorite Spider-Man film. The fact that Tom Holland had influence in the creative direction shows not only does he truly understand the character, but also proves the point Marvel Studios should cast people who truly embrace their role to that degree. And the brilliant directing, cinematography, and stunt design of Destin Daniel Cretton and his team have now set the standard. Since this film has made over $2.5 billion, it should be remarkably easy for Marvel Studios and Disney to see they need to embrace this direction. X-Men will be their flagship series post-Secret Wars and it can absolutely be done well enough to this degree.

When I saw this in theaters, the first big fight ended and I genuinely thought the movie was ending and it was setting up for a sequel. But then it just kept on going and it felt like we got a whole other movie out of it.

I'm already getting tired of the online discourse for this movie (and every nerd thing, but especially this one right now), so it's refreshing to come here and listen to y'all talk about this movie in an actually intelligent and non twitter-brained way, So thanks!

Have to understand that the majority of posts on twitter are ragebait or misinformed, it is not for the weak. But I agree, I love coming here listening to what these guys have to say, and Reel Rejects & Blind Wave too. 😆

Amazon did that shit to me too! Tried to watch the last little bit and it auto jumped on multiple attempts to a preview to some other show, so annoying. Could not agree with y'all more, this felt so comic booky in the best way and felt so Spider-man in a way we hadn't gotten in the MCU to this point. Even the cameos felt natural and not just HEY LOOK WHO IT IS, REMEMBER??? Loved this movie.
