The Thing Watch A Long
Hey Peaches! We're finally watching one of the creepiest movies ever made. A absolute horror classic. A parasitic alien is dethawed in the arctic and will do anything, and mutate anyone, to infect the entire world. It's up to Kurt Russel to play the first game of Among Us and save the planet from this creepy monstrosity.

Oh my. I thought Adam was gonna faint during the spider head scene!
Still one of the best (and most influential) horror movies of all time, and it holds up really well. You called it Adam, The Thing was indeed the main inspiration for Among Us! It's very obvious the moment the creature cuts the power! Dead Space and a load of other games have taken inspiration, too.
Listen, I don’t like being scared. I am a wuss. And The Thing is easily one of the scariest films I’ve ever seen, but god I agree with Jay so much here with his rant at the beginning. There is something about practical effects that makes films like this more terrifying and there’s just no point in trying to recreate them poorly with CGI.
Re: Kurt Russell — have you guys seen Captain Ron? 😅 That would be a good one to watch as a palate cleanser after this lol As a note — Wilford Brimley (Blair) was the ripe old age of 47 when they filmed this movie
Oh… and them watching all those VHS tapes of TV shows over and over again while isolated made me think of the show For All Mankind, which you should definitely watch!
PeachCon - flares, liquor, and dynamite
So to how they did the defibrillator scene. Its a jump cut from a take torso to the fake monster mouth, and the actor is replaced with a double amputee with makeup and a mask to look like the ordiginal actor
Jay channeling the soup nazi with that hot take, but I respect it. The modern thing movie isn't a remake it's a prequel. wow Adam coming in with the Mr. Burns reference at the end damn!
Oh no. This one's gonna be ROUGH on my boys.
