Breaking The Silence; HHG v0.1.3
Good Morning.
First of all, sorry for the silence over the last months on Patreon. I normally consider this a platform to post long and rich posts in content, which you do in 2 or 3 days. (Or benefits, like wallpapers or cheats)
With the progress I have made with the v0.1.3 update, I have enough to make a couple of posts with sneak peeks or entire posts showing new stuff. But I decided not to do it, and it's completely my fault. I'll explain why;
Like I say in every post, I like to surprise people or fulfill their expectations and go beyond that, if possible. That's one of the reasons I decided NOT to post or show too much about the game. The only sneak peeks you had until now are random images from events, without context or explanations, to maintain that... "Mystery" about how Chapter 1 will be, or what will happen, that is, I want to believe, what most users want to know.
The thing is, I have recently received a lot of comments/messages on multiple platforms about how slow I am with the update, or about the waiting time and blablabla. I don't mind explaining the situation to users, but most of them always answer with... Insecurity, or anger, and I feel they think I'm lying, milking the patrons the most I can, or simply scamming.
And, to be honest, I feel like shit every time it happens. Because I know I'm working hard to deliver a good and big update, even bigger than any other update you saw until now.
No, I don't need therapy or a break, this normally doesn't affect me, but there have been many of those comments lately. So, after analyzing it for a while and commenting on it with friends and trusted people, I have decided to make a post about what I have been working on and what you'll see.
This should be considered as "I have been working on this" more than a sneak peek. But you'll see some stuff. I'll try to make it brief.
First of all, let's talk about the quality of events/scenes.
In v0.1.3 one of the main goals is to make the events the clearest and smooth as possible in terms of quality. I have learned a lot about lighting, FoV, and camera over the last months, so I can safely say in v0.1.3 the events will feel... different. And I hope all users like this change.
Also, with... what happened at the end of the prologue... cough Narissa cough... Now the First-Perspective Camera that the game had before it's meager compared to the prologue. Now, you have to see what both of them see. Plus the events and scenes now have two extra characters, one of them being mini. So, it takes a little bit extra time.
Do you remember this nod, right? If you don't, go play the Halloween Event by changing your computer's date and opening the game again goddamit.
Well, if you remember it, that's extremely cute. People loved it; it adds a lot of life to the characters.

In v0.1.3, almost all events have these types of animations. Extra time. But I think they are worth it; makes the game more entertaining and show exactly how the characters act.
Characters and Plot.
According to most players, one of HHG's strongest points is its story and characters. This requires HHG to meet expectations, so I have to be very careful with adding characters or creating events.
So, I took my time to plan and create the characters to always have meaning in the world. These two characters that you see in the last image are essential, I invested a lot of them, like having their own weapons and giving them a good look, and slowly, I'll try to have unique clothes and weapons or accessories for all characters, like the main ones. (Lucy, Rebecca, Evie, etc.) So I hope you like these two, they are funny.
In v0.1.3, some extra characters that I created because of; Yes. Will leave. Others will be reworked and, I hope that in Part 1 of Chapter 1, all the characters you have met or seen in events will have a meaning.
For example, this rip-off character of the treant will be changed completely for that very reason.
Random Generated Dungeons.
Boo! What!? You thought that this part of the post what all about "Random Generated Dungeons"? Pfff, no, it's about gameplay.
No seriously I've created entirely random generated dungeons
This random dungeon is supposed to reset every x days and it would be one of the core gameplays or "things to do" in Hero's Harem Guild; Exploring new areas every time.
Inside them, you're supposed to be able to mine, fish, forage, find chests, lockpick, break random jars for money... You know, the typical.
I can't create new isolated areas just for players to go and mine, fish, or forage there. It would be repetitive and boring. So, I thought that randomly generated zones could be excellent and would work perfectly with that.
If you have played Sakura Dungeon, it works almost identical but. Apart from that, you can interact with the scenery, have events, etc.
They don't have to be necessarily random. I've made it compatible with custom ones. You know, for events or story stuff. So, you're able to have events in the middle of the dungeon.
All pieces are there, sadly, IT'S NOT PLANNED TO BE FULLY IMPLEMENTED IN V0.1.3.
The full code will remain in v0.1.3 if someone wants to take a look or explore the random dungeons by themselves, but for now, in v0.1.3, there will be an introduction to the Dungeons. Just one custom dungeon to check if people like it and it works correctly. There's a lot left to be done, but I preferred to focus on events.
When it comes to Fishing, Foraging, or Mining alone, I added some objects, tools, and cool QoL stuff.
Some of them have really cool effects and sounds. It's pretty satisfactory if you ask me.
The thing is... getting items and then selling them, getting items, selling them... It's a circle and can be boring for some people.
So, I added that feature that any harem or dating sim game should have, and mine doesn't;
GIFTS
(food, tbh)
Some people don't really like the "Spend Time" feature. After a while, it feels repetitive. So, with the gifts, you can increase the girl's affection easily with materials...
If you have the materials, talk to one of your Guild Assistants. They will be able to do something for you! (Or even Yinna or the others, who knows...)
COOKING
Yes, it's incomplete.
Narissa
The making of this was a challenge.
This took days and days of working to make it look at least somewhat good. Now, calling Narissa feels normal and doesn't interrupt the background or anything, and that's a pretty big goal.
The model of Narissa is completely animated, with different outfits and expressions.
Some months ago I said Hero's Harem Guild has two MCs, and I'm not lying. Narissa is a fundamental character and will be at your side for a long time.
She's a demon, she's from outside. She knows the world more than you. Narissa will be helping you explaining where to get materials for a quest or telling you about the world you live in. Somewhat like a guide, but don't forget she will be more than that.
There are a lot of other new features or changes. Almost all item icons got changed, new notifications when there's a new talk or action available, new durability bars, the quests objectives are now more clear, you can sort inventory, items that are capable to sell are highlighted, the quintuples now doesn't require to have the items to build, you can now equip accessories or upgrades, blablablabla.
And some performance changes like the mythical lag when moving the mouse. I had to rework EVERY location just for that. It's fixed now.
I hope that you'll be convinced of what I did in the last months with what I shared in this post. I will say it every time, I love this game. I want the better for it. And that needs time, period.
The main menu is completely reworked and changed, too. And it changes per version/chapter. This one is from the prologue! No, I won't show the other one! >:c Enough spoilers for a while!
Sadly, I will stop writing this post with a bittersweet taste in the mouth. I don't know if that's the correct way to say it... but... I'm happy that I'm showing everything I worked on over these months, but at the same time, I would love for you guys to have seen all these changes directly in the game, I think it would have been an excellent experience.

Ok, I'll admit this is a nitpick and a rather personal one at that but I noticed Narissa calls you a "retard" in the dungeon and that doesn't sit well with me. Would it be too much to ask to change it to idiot?

Please no knife requirement just to pick flowers.
The knife will only boost your forage. Like, for example... if you grab flowers with the hand, you get one. But if you do it with the knife, there's a 10% chance to get two flowers

Checked for ya and I'd say he's roughly 60% done for the update. (Bear in mind that this could change depending on what happens)

Screw the complaints. I got into adult games just over a year ago, and I've learned quality takes time. You can have a bunch of meh content put together real fast. You can have a smaller amount of pretty decent content. Or you can take the time required to put out quality and quantity. Which is what you're doing and appreciate it. The way I see it, of your game isn't great why would you be earning over $12,000 a month to make it?

Truly a remarkable experience awaits us in the coming versions, based on this revealing update! The dedication and hard work being put into the game is well-received by many. May you have many Good Mornings and feel proud, Komi & Team, knowing that this project and it's ever-expanding story has inspired great change in many lives. To all of the folks who are upset or not seeing 'enough' content/updates, just try to remember that there are a lot of posts that only Patrons are able to see. A lot of stuff happens in the Discord, please join it and come see all of the activity and community projects happening. Komi and the behind-the-scenes team does it's best to remain transparent and honest with people. Well I have said this time and time again "No one can see what is in your head! I don't know your plans or vision of the game no one but you can. We can can only work with what is REAL and available to us. In the last few months what has been available and real to us? See the problem, still nothing real is available just a rehash of your last guilt outburst. Am I being really hard on you no I don't think so, I am replying to you post in a honest way. So nothing inline with your past statements your last Game release post Nov 22, 2020 at 11:48 AM HHG v0.1.2 will turn free November 23 at 3pm (GMT-3). The only thing since then has been most likely the reason for the venom you have seen "CONTENT PACK UPDATED TO v2!". Nothing for your supporters for a couple of months before hand and this "LINK HERE! You have to be a 20$+ patron!" is just a low fucking money grab scam! Yes I was not being prick I am being honest! Could you please tell me why I would on your pass history pay you $20 per month for nothing! Again I am trying to make the point "I do not know what you are doing or have done! I can only rely on what I have available" so spending time crying about how people are judging you only on your output is well stupid! How else can anyone do it? If you hire someone to work for you how would you judge the value and or respect you are getting for your financial support in the form their wages? I just do not understand why you are not adding to your current build platform while working on the pie in the sky version getting it stable, taking your time transferring the data over testing. Because making a whole new platform is a cunt of a thing to do everything that can fuck WILL fuck up, time and time again. Each fix has the potential to backlash and tare the guts out of what has already been done. Doing in parallel allows to walk away from it to clear your head on the version that is working. Hello, I think you didn't read the post. I explained that the "venom" I got was completely justified, and I didn't feel good knowing that I'm working on the game, so, I decided to make a new post about the new stuff, so, at least, people are able to understand why it's taking time doing this. And bro... seriously? The game turned free on November 23... ANYONE can download the new version, the game HAS BEEN COMPLETELY FREE FOR 5 MONTHS, AND IT'S STILL FREE. The content pack is some sort of artbook for some people that it's interesting in it, it's not my main service, it's just a side benefit people receive for paying 20$. You don't want it? Don't pay for it, don't worry. The game is free and in the latest version, you can play it if you want, you DON'T NEED TO PAY ME. And man, what are you talking about? When did I say the game is going to have a whole new platform or a whole new version? Where the hell did you read that? What you saw in the post ARE ALL IMAGES INSIDE GAME, they are not "an idea on how to build a better one", THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE NEXT UPDATE. I don't understand what are you trying to criticize. You're saying the latest STABLE version is not available? Yes, it is, for months now. You're saying I'm not showing anything real for the patrons? What is this post? They are fake features? Hey Komi ! Thanks for all your work and deciding to share it with us. I think I understand how you feel when you talked about that bittersweet taste but I think it is for the best. Anyway, I think no one will have any doubt about how invested you are about this game, and hopefully won't bother you too much anymore. I'm really excited to see how things will unravel. I don’t know how I found this game (probably iFunny) but since I’ve been playing it the combination of music, comedy and just overall story have me more invested in this then I thought I would be, I mean I love Lucy she’s just so innocent I want to hug her and if we can just straight up call jimmy our homie he makes the game so much more entertaining
While i am at it i want to ask a question do you Plan on making an Ending for every Charakter or ah harem ending? Or both?
The game is not about routes. It's about an history of a Hero, a Demon and a Guild. It won't have a harem ending and won't have an ending for every character. The ending will be only one!

I was impressed with the quality of the 1.1 update, it took time, but it was one of the best update I ever played in this kind of game, it was generous in content. Even 1.2, which was based on an overhaul of the code, had some great bonus content. But keep going, no stress, we have a lot of others game to play, other manga or animes to watch. We will wait patiently <3
if someone seriously things he is scamming you clearly you haven't seen the amount of time he spends in his coding program EVERY SINGLE DAY, games take time to make specially for a solo dev its not rocket science, if you are one of the people calling Komi out for scamming seriously this game and community DOESNT NEED YOU. but to Komi you been more then helpful even when you didn't need to take your time and when its really its ready and im sure people who actually care about the game will wait for a good polished version to be ready to dive into.

To be honest I looked at the last update a couple days ago & said "he's gonna say something soon". I'm not stressing over i know that you work to put out a great product & here for it. I'll just wait in anticipation. So don't let these comments get to you. I'm sure a lot of the time it's from people who don't even pay. Work at your pace not there's & we'll be here for the hype when it comes out.
