Victoria you take fantastic pictures - I loved the van+astronomy!
Mom had a Astro in like 87’, ended up getting it Lemon Lawed. Fine after that but it was a rough start when it took a huge shit and died on a trip to upstate NY. Also the Honda Prelude (no maybe Accord?) Wagon in like 1998? All wheel drive it was a beauty.
I wish Toyota would make their lunchbox 80s vans again. So dope. Also related kind of, Isuzu made a SUV called a Rodeo and I hear they are bulletproof if the body stays fit. Real cheap too. Typically I’m not an Isuzu fan but it’s neat lil thing. Also when you start moding out Vans Victoria you should call your custom a “Hi-Bert”. 🖤🎉
Just bought a 2017 ford transit for work and then finally subscribed to the Patreon and see this……. Coincidence?????
Go Bruins!
Welcome to hockey chat with Liam and Victoria! I fully welcome more puck talk and even maybe an episode someday. More interestingly, how Chrysler ended up in shambles a few decades after "remaking the entire car market in one generation" is kind of sad.
A vancast about bonus episodes, with faces?!
I was hoping for Previa mention since we had one when I was a kid, but I see how it didn't quite fit into the narrative. We have a Pacifica because at the moment in time we were looking to upgrade the family vehicle 5 years ago with the family growing, it seemed nice and the stow n go seating has been incredibly useful at times. It's been pretty good, just don't ask me about the head gasket that went at 99k miles. We also have a BMW wagon and I'm a bit of a wagon nerd, maybe y'all should look at doing a wagon episode? Anyways I enjoyed this, thank you guys!
Years of Lead Poisoning. Carry on.
So my parents are some of the people who decided to keep their Nisan van and didn’t get rid of it until around 2011 or something. The built in fridge was terrible.
This show just keeps on getting more professional
How is it that trans women can make things that we don't care about in the slightest seem interesting enough to watch/read/listen what they say on the topic? First Elizabeth Sandifer makes us care about comics, now this? We don't even want to know about vans. ;)
As a VW fanatic this episode scratched all the itches right up front.
The FLINTS kiosk in the UK is a Citroen van. https://www.caughtbytheriver.net/2026/05/an-interview-with-flints-kiosk/
As a certified T1N Sprinter enjoyer I am so excited for this episode
I usually do audio only but had to watch this one. It was so nice seeing Liam and Victoria’s faces.
I had the same model van but I just junked it this year, it ran great but the rust had taken over
Look, the Aerostar wasn't much to look at. But it was spacious and comfortable, the seats came out real easy, and it was pretty spritely. Also had great visibility. Except for the thing where it would catch on fire it was pretty good
When I was growing up, my dad drove a van. An enormous blue cargo van from the 80s No seats in the back. No windows, except one small one set high and on one side. It had a V8 engine and weighed nothing. You learn how to sit in a van with no seats or you become a pinball
Liam lookin extra pretty
Is Victoria the podcasts designated survivor? If all the usual hosts are taken out in one precision strike does she take over?
Legend 🫡🤙 Hey Liam
I love Bert
We all love the dumb little ginger baby.
My dad was a van guy. Off the top of my head, he had: 70s Econoline 80s Econoline 70s Dodge Tradesman (fullsize cargo van) 90s Dodge Mini Ram Van (cargo version of Caravan) 90s Ford Aerostar 00s Nissan Quest
Also, didn’t Chrysler lobby to have caravans classified as a ‘light truck’ because they didn’t pass rear 3rd row passenger safety, initially? Am I remembering that right? Jeep XJ sort of that and their greatest virtue is mostly that Chrysler left them mostly unchanged from AMC’s clean slate design (until the ‘97 face-lift, anyway?) for their long run? But AMC allegedly lost out to Northrop-Grumman (more established and evil defense contractors, tho that Grumman aluminum body is impressively simple & tough and they’re quite maneuverable / amazing they lasted this long / they live a hard life / wish USPS had rooftop electric charger parking and would just EV convert them / frame off refresh and repower them as railroads do w/locomotives (maybe give them A/c and a more comfortable seat?) as not USPS city carrier routs ?) & GM for the usps eventually became the USPS LLV that the XJ was supposed to be tk replace the CJ-8 in ‘84? The usps LLV really is a good case for a repower and most city routes are 10-15mi? They might need a BMW I3 style range extender ICE in case power is interrupted to limp, but it’s the ideal application for a repower, simple maneuverable vehicle w/a durable aluminum body, but that might make sense and conserve & this is America, so?
not to detract from the vanisode but both Liam and Victoria looking good as hell ngl
I am sick in bed. Bless you for this background noise for my bedbound Pokopia day Solidarity for the two dead podcast hosts
There's a little bit more re: the importation of the Ford Transit vans...the IRS looked into this practice and informed Ford that, going forward, any such Transits were 'light trucks' subject to Chicken Tax, which were being used to transport van seats as cargo to the United States. Ford asked the IRS if destroying the van seats would change the seats' status from 'cargo' to 'waste,' and the IRS confirmed that. So then, Ford would import the seat-inclusive vans to the same facility in Baltimore, where they had installed a large industrial shredder. Ford hasn't paid Chicken Tax on any of the Transits.
God, I love this! I need this, but 2 hours long, complete with screen time and slides. Long enough for me to polish off a 6 pack of ranch water and eat dinner. Seriously needed this joy in my life tonight. Shit.
HI BERT!
love it when the teachers are away
Much as trucks are (space & fuel) inefficient and cab-over campers are less stealth than a sprinter w/o the ‘molester’ stigma / home-alone greats Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern drive a van as a camper, I insist that that it be 1 parking space (no trailers) & that the ‘house’ be able to be separated from the car. That leaves me w/heavy Alaskan campers / pop-ups & simple cave-man Toyota Hilux 1-ton duallys, my ‘78 F250 1-ton Canadian (4wd) I shouldn’t have sold (300-6 & 4 speed w/home-made gear vendors OD) (didn’t realize even in the gas crisis most were carbed 460 V8 / how rare my truck was?). Only weirdos own vans in the USA market and no one maintains them (have to pull the engine to do valve cover gaskets and injector harnesses on the 7.3 powerstroke FraudMoCo vans). I do kind of accept the -‘72 short inline 6 manual trans dimly serviceable short 3/4 or 1 ton econolines, but the curved sides & inability to stand up inside kind of kill it for me? Reviving a C350 Bronco-centurion. Not my thing, but given it was the only 1-ton at the time (I guess border patrol briefly had a 1-ton suburban in the w. bush years?) & ~2x the price of a truck or suburban for the monied ford guy who won’t buy a Chevy, it’s cool to see one surviving as a piece of history? We call 15 passenger vans MC-edition (Mormon-Catholic).
HI BERT
Someday the podcast will have podcasters again. I want to believe
Yeah yeah someone tried to off the president and the govt is once again insisting aliens exist- but shut the fuck up!! We have another goddamn Van Episode All other news has been rendered irrelevant for the next hour
I wish 70s van culture would supplant truck culture.
Hey babe, stop all your downloading! 🫡🫡
Liam and Victorias van corner hell yeah
The photo of that Citroën H Van was taken inside the parking area of the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville which is the coolest car museum in the whole country.
Me and my child(2003 vw Eurovan) loved watching this
The house of trans women vehicle journalists is the Convant.
I know you probably recorded this a while ago, but I'm having the out-of-body experience of requesting this exact episode last night and it being posted this morning.

Aw hell yeah Liam finally seized the radio stations!
Next he will secure the telegram exchange.
I never expected to feel so close to Liam.
¿se van?
Perfect, I just needed an episode to hear your voices. Things are not so good here. Yay Liam and Victoria!
Also, I was in my nearest VW business last fall and saw their one ID Buzz in the showroom, and thought it was the ugliest thing I've ever seen. My gf loved it. Bus nostalgia indeed.
dutch guy named van episode
Nova, my girl, please stop licking so many doorknobs
Licking the bottoms of boots, becoming a sole survivor
Mr President, a second Van episode has hit the Patreon
