Some news and a question to everyone!
Hey guys!
I completely forgot about this post last night, so get it out befor I go on my short break.
First, the big question.
As I was flipping my calendar I noticed that next month will be Mothers Day again. Last year I did a special, suggested and voted by you guys and it was a big success. So I was thinking to ask all of you if you would like to see another one next month. If so, just tell in a comment. If there is a big enough demand I will have a poll for your ideas.
And now to a bit more serious topic.
I was waiting with this post because I was unsure about the avaiable information, but many of you probably heard from someone that there are issues again with Patreon and it's guidelines. To put it short, they becoming more strict again with adult content creators. Thanks to this many artist already announced that they leave Patreon for good.
I had considered it myself, but after a long conversation with other adult content creators we come to the conclusion that we might be in the green... for now at least, but we must be much more careful with what we do, and how we do it, especially when it comes to adult intercourse. So much for artistic freedom again, right? I never did too much adult scenes thus far, i don't even think i'm that good making them, and moving forward I might do even less just to be absolutely sure.
This still does not exclude my exodus in the future, which would be devastating after this amazing community came together in a shared love for TF comics. But this is still in case of the worst case scenario, so there will be no changes for now.
But this whole situation made me painfully aware how horribly ill prepared I was if I would be silence without warning. I have no other direct communication channel to anyone. I want to change that as soon as possible
So I was thinking to launch a public Discord or an X account for communication purposes. Tho I have no clue how to set up or maintain such a complex public platform. And not that I have the free time to manage them and always be avaiable there. I sometimes have issues with my own Discord. I'm quite an introverted type so I have trouble with communicating. So if someone has any ideas, suggestions or proposals how this works, I would love to hear them.
So that's it. Sorry for the long post, but I fekt that everybody needs to know these things. I will keep everyone updated if I hear something new.

Creating a Discord is easy the main problem is managing it and keeping it safe. I’d recommend getting like a group of people and have them as moderators

Vote for Mothers Day comic yes. To avoid conflict with your release schedule, postpone the comic itself maybe to summer or a time slot fitting for you. Oh and maybe limit the comic to max 50-70 pages 😉. I can't say anything about the other topic i guess you should consider the other options many of your patreons brought up.

As you've seen, I'm currently grappling with similar thoughts to keep my Patreon page safe from potential reactions from payment services. It's unfortunate that this needs to be the case again, but after Gumroad's closure, content creators for adult content should have a solid strategy. From what I gather here, your community seems similarly active with good suggestions as mine. Thank you guys and gals. I hope it's okay with all of you that I use this for my own strategy too :)

You're right. I always played with the idea, but I was not sure how active I could be there. I already live in front of my PC and managing a Discord and be there as well just seemed too much. But that might change soon. I might need to sacrifice my whole being to the ancient gods of the PC XD
Discord isn't that hard to setup. My biggest issue has been trying to make my server safe. I really don't have the time to research how to properly manage it, but I seem to get by. Despite that, it would be my suggestion to you over X. X is simple and easy to setup, but you won't get a lot of traffic there unless you get "verified".

Why no both twitter and discord. Twitter to promote work and discord to have discussions with community. Just one thing with discord you need to be active on it, people join the discord for the most part to talk or have a more personal interaction with the artist they support. If you barely log in to your discord is gonna be an empty discord that no one is gonna participate, this happens to almost every discord for patreon creators. Not saying be there 24/7 but be present. Perfect example of a healthy discord server is Kara Comet's server it is an active community since most days she interacts with people several times throughout the day and example of a dead server is Abimboleb's server no one talks because he is never present on the discord server.
Yes, you make a very good point there. I amazed how Kara have time for everything. Making comics, attend to discord, have a life with family. And she's doing it great. I'm just afraid I could not be there with a good enough presence with my general lack of communication and introverted personality.

Thank you for your opinion. The sad thing is that I don't have a say in anything. I can only fill out their question forms, but I doubt they take them seriously. Subscribestar is still not off the table, but first I get that Discord server up and running.
The mother's day comic might be interesting. As for the patreon issue, I have heard most that are leaving are moving to subscribestar
The thing with subscribestar is that it is very hard to look artists up so it might be difficult to attract new patrons as they have a hard time finding you. So if you make a twitter or deviant art, or where ever you post some of your work, link your subscribestar to it so people can find you as without a link it is VERY HARD to find artists
I would like to see another Mother's Day comic, but only if it doesn't over burden you. You shouldn't overwork yourself. As for the Patreon issue, you should try doing Subscribestar.

I read about patreon creator saying there was a way to export the email addresses of subscribers. If so, that would probably be the best way of communicating a new home in event of a disaster. As for the comic, I'll say no because my suggestion didn't win the vote last time 😄 But whatever you go for I'm sure it'll be good!
Thank you for your opinion. And about the method you mentioned. I think I used it once where I sent out a group message when there was a voting. But i'm not sure if they would strike me down, even temporarily, that I would still have access to send out messages. Let's hope I won't find it out.

While mothers day stuff would be welcome, I agree that you have a lot on the go and would be happy with you simply continuing, or just do something short, maybe?

Okay so a few things: 1. I recommend a discord instead of an "X" account. 2. I also recommend Subscribestar, there are artists there that I'm aware that don't have to worry about Patreon's "guidelines". 3. While this is listed three I personally consider it number one but please don't stop the intercourse scenes, I don't know about others preferences but for my personal enjoyment not getting to see that part is basically pulling the rug from under my feet in terms of enjoyment. I like the themes and things that happen but the grand finale to me is the intercourse. 4. This is technically a part two of 3 but if you are planning to do something I'd rather you make the move to subscribestar so you don't have to cut those scenes that would make me very sad... 5. And in terms of the Mother's Day comic I think it would be great if there was another one this year ;HOWEVER, I'm still waiting on the epilogue of last years Mother's day comic especially since we didn't even get to see the daughters new lactating boobs in all their naked glory. 6. Oh and as others have been saying if a Mother's Day project is going to put a hamper on things then perhaps simply making a "healthy" epilogue for last years; healthy meaning not a short epilogue like they can sometimes be but a decent length one so that you don't have to consider a full lenght comic. That being said do what you can. My vote is always for more boobs lol.

For the community platform I would recommend discord, it’s easy to manage and if you have good moderators it can be the best option.

Mother's Day comic would be fun but don't do it if you'll fall behind. Also have you thought about moving to subscribestar? I think there guidelines are a lot looser.
Thank you for your opinion. And yes, subscribestar was one of my first thougt, but it has just as many disadvantages as positives aspects to it. But I don't exclude it for now.
The Mother’s Day comics were always good to see but they mess up the timeline a bit and you always have several different things going at the same time.

As for Mother’s Day? As much as I would love that, I don’t want you to get bogged down worrying about time lines and would rather you get through the stacks you have 😊

I’d be happy to help you set up and moderate a discord, you can even set up a Patreon specific channel for the full comics (and just put censored bars in Patreon)

I think a discord account will probably be the safest bet to keep everything together as a community.
