Strange problem: whenever I tried to make this recipe with the "I Dream of Sous" Chef Station in a San Myshuno apartment with the Simple Living lot challenge active (not sure what's relevant here), my Sim would put it in the oven and then give me the failed routing animation, like I told him to go somewhere he couldn't. BUT... if I placed another oven in his apartment, he would still put it the dessert in progress in the chef station (I guess because it was closest?), but then walk to the other oven to stare at it as the interaction progressed, then walk back to the chef station and remove present the completed cake. Pretty hilarious. But maybe you've got some tagging issue or something in your steps?
It seems like A LOT of your recipes are having him do that, come to think of it...

this is so beautiful. that pastel green color makes me feel so nostalgic for y2k. I know pink and blue are THE y2k colors but, everyone forgets how pastels were super popular too.
