What happens in year eight of Bloodlines? The results are in!

We've tabulated the results, and it's time to share!

October's poll presented a special opportunity for Defilers to chime-in on where they want future Bloodlines development to focus. They received a wishlist based on comments received throughout the year and chose every statement they agreed with (even if some of those statements contradicted others).

What were the most popular responses?

Out of 56 respondents, 44 agreed that they "prefer updates where a character goes all the way from human to vampire."

40 also said they "want to see a mass corruption at the Church."

38 replied that they "want to see Terry start a 'vampiress police squad.'"

37 said they "want to see more people transformed by vampire bites."

35 respondents "want to see more people transformed by sexual activity."

34 said it's "important that we corrupt as many humans as possible."

31 said they "don't want to see any vampires die."

What were the least popular responses?

Out of 56 respondents, only 4 like "moving around between the different Bloodlines."

6 agreed that "we don't get to spend enough time with my favorite character."

6 respondents "want to see more scenes at characters' homes."

9 said they "want to focus more on Nicolas's Bloodline."

9 agreed that "it's most important for me that each update comes out fast."

What does this mean for future development? Well, this was an interesting poll. There weren't really any overwhelming responses in any direction, and the amount of rankings in the middle ground suggest quite a diversity of opinions. While people have been asking for "updates where a character goes all the way from human to vampire" for quite a long time, it doesn't rank as high as questions about Lisa have in past polls. The tricky thing about pushing a character from human all the way to vampire in a single update is that we pretty much only get that hardcore scene, but I think we'll have some opportunities to do that in the coming year.

"I want to see a mass corruption at the Church" scored quite high, as well. I think the writing has been on the wall for this scene happening, but it's going to require a lot of plot movement to get there. Specifically, we need to see more progress at the Church and with Father Keller. The good news is that our recent focus on Lisa has helped us move in that direction.

There was also some strong support for "I want to see Terry start a 'vampiress police squad, '" which may have taken some of you by surprise. This is something else that has been brewing for a while, but we needed to get further with William and Oliver's Bloodlines before it could be seriously considered. We can probably start moving in that direction, but I'd say it will depend a lot on how much Terry can be worked into upcoming updates.

We nearly broke even on "I want to see more people transformed by vampire bites" and "I want to see more people transformed by sexual activity," which could be taken as opposing views or complimentary ones. Maybe you want both! The number of votes suggest people are relatively satisfied with the amount currently happening... but they would enjoy seeing more. I didn't offer drinking 'wine' as an option because I feel like we've had plenty of that in the past year.

For the first time in a long time, I'll probably focus a lot on the comments with middling popularity. Plenty of responses earned more than a 50% approval rate, so I'm going to see what I can do for developling Vicky's Bloodline, corrupting Oliver more, and having the vampires make their move at Penelope's store.
