What happens in year six of Bloodlines? The results are in!

We've tabulated the results, and it's time to share!

October's poll presented a special opportunity for Defilers to chime-in on where they want future Bloodlines development to focus. They received a wishlist based on comments received throughout the year and chose every statement they agreed with (even if some of those statements contradicted others).

What were the most popular responses?

Out of 68 respondents (so close), 53 agreed that they "want a canon ending for the game that has the vampires win."

53 also said they "prefer vampiresses in their 3rd transformation."

51 replied that they "can't wait to see the Church fall to the vampires."

50 said they would "prefer to see more scenes where one character goes through all the stages of corruption."

30 respondents "want to see the vampiresses walking around town completely naked."

28 said they "want to see more scenes at the Academy dorms."

What were the least popular responses?

Out of 68 respondents, only 4 "prefer vampiresses in their 1st transformation."

5 replied that they "want to see some humans get killed (but not turned into vampires)."

6 respondents "want to see our human characters kill some vampires"

7 agreed that "it's most important for updates to be released on time"

7 said they "want to see more scenes like 'Whitney serves the public.'"

7 respondents "want the UI and script to be improved, even if that means less hardcore content in an update."

What does this mean for future development? While one of the most popular responses relates to the end of production, the other involves putting more fully-turned vampiresses into scenes. That shouldn't be too difficult, but we'll definitely be careful to keep each month's update from feeling too "samey."

The downfall of the Church also scored very high, and I'm glad to see it. The Church has been on the backburner for a very long time because of how it ties into the lore of Lind, backstory of certain characters, and Wanda's Bloodline. Once we move further into the narrative of the Church, it won't be long before the vampires find their way in...

Most people also want full corruption of characters in a single update, and we'll see how much more of that can be done this year. As I've said before, full corruptions take a long time to produce because at least 4 character models need to be created (human, tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 AKA final form). That impacts our monthly schedule and doesn't allow for much more than the hardcore scene in an update.

I'll also keep the comments with middling popularity in mind, going forward. Even though only a few responses earned more than a 50% approval rate, I won't ignore the requests for things like having vampires parading around in the nude, more scenes at the Academy dorms, and moving toward the fall of the Town Council at the hands of the vampires.
