Farewell Dreamwalker.
Now that the finale episode is out, you'll see that, unfortunately, Webtoon will not be renewing Dreamwalker. Even though I REALLY, REALLY want to continue the story. I still have so much to tell, so many mysteries unsolved, so many stories unexplored. I'll have to sadly end Dreamwalker for Webtoon Originals here :(
For those wondering why, Webtoon responded that there were not enough numbers to justify continuing the series. I tried my best promoting it, hoping that it could turn around. I put in more time away from the comic just to make tiktok videos and Instagram posts. How ironic that comic artists can never focus on doing comics. But alas, the decision was final, and it wasn't my decision.
You've probably also heard of the 3-year exclusivity for webtoons before I can post any new content. This includes posting on Canvas or Patreon. There are many rights signed when I joined Webtoon. I may have to revisit them because it might not be a simple 3 years wait. But I dread the legal jargon, and I can't afford a lawyer. So I'll go back to reading it.... maybe 3 years later, to see if there's more catch. But for now, as far as I can tell, I should be able to return to this project after 3 years. I hope. I'm only confident about this in public because other authors are saying the same thing.
The last two chapters were a bit unsatisfying for me. I tried to end it in a way that could continue even if I've left for a long time, but still conclude for readers in Webtoon. They definitely took way too long to complete compared to the usual chapters, just from the back-and-forth edits. Still, I hope they turn out all right, because if I am to continue this series 3 years later, what's on Webtoon Originals cannot be touched or changed.
As a side note, the beach episode nearly didn't happen! They classified it as "extra episodes" and were about to not pay me for it. I fought really hard, to change the content, so that there is still plot relevance in the beach episode, just so that they could publish it. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
All in all, I hope that answers most people's curiosity. I ask that the content on Patreon not be shared publicly. Some information here can be sensitive. Now, more than ever, I will be relying on Patreon for a living, and for my assistant's living as well. I hope to test some episodes here, just to see how well Patreon displays comics.
I thank you all for being here, both new and those who have stuck with us since frog-eyed Spider ate that piece of breadstick. I appreciate everything that you've done, the support, the shoutout, and being such a wholesome community. I hope that one day I can return to Dreamwalker. But for now, within this 3-year period, it's Royals time >;D

ROYALS LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!
Hearing all this still makes me mad 😠 butllshit. But in hindsight, new story, maybe new cat? New adventures to be had.
You were one of the gems on that platform. They failed you by not promoting dreamwalker more. Maybe truly original content has no chance when pitted against to the mass produced identical slop that is the comic industry, but I still hope it can prosper. I hope you can get your funding from Patreon and publish on multiple platforms for "free" to get more people to donate on Patreon. Unfortunately, Patreon is terrible for outreach
When I found Dream walkers, I gotta admit your story and visuals hooked me instantly, im so glad I could ride alongside and now support you and your endeavors. I look forward to see whatever you create and hopefully see our little spider come through to finish such an amazing adventure!
