This video is edited from a live stream reaction to the video "The NEW Era of Alternate Picking Is Here" by Bernth.
The ideas Bernth teaches, and how he claims to have "accidentally discovered" how he can now pick fast in his video, I feel are dishonest. I do not believe he discovered how to pick fast recently, as he has already been playing just as fast for YEARS before his "discovery", and his describing "string rebound" helps you play faster is flat out wrong.

I agree, I experience the opposite of what Bernth describes. The string displacement of the “rebound” is a hazard to avoid. When there’s very little displacement it’s more controllable and therefore faster picking is easier. That’s my experience, and believe it or not, I have thought about it before! I stopped watching Bernth a while back when his videos became so hypey. He’s starting to seem like a 1990s infomercial car wax salesman.
Oh yes, I believe you! I think a lot of guitar players notice they can play faster and with more control when the string hardly moves.
