Allan W. 7-8-20 #3 (16th to 8th Note - Over and Over Again)

This was given to a student to work on going between 16th and 8th notes. This pattern lasts for three bars. The fourth bar is a different strumming pattern to add in some variation.

The count for this is:

1e-a2-na-en-4e-a
1-na-en-3e-a4-na
-en-2e-a3-na-en-
1ena-ena-ena4-n-

Another way of looking at this, is to count the strumming as a 3/4 time signature. This is because the strumming pattern repeats after three beats! This basically means the first three bars are a polymeter. We have a 4/4 AND 3/4 time signature occurring at the same time.

That means you can count the rhythm like this:

1e-a2-na-en1e-a
2-na-en1e-a2-na
-en-1e-a2-na-en-
1ena-ena-ena4-n-
