So, one thing I think will help, as I kinda agree with Matezhion (in general, not specifics), is to make the crafted gear add a special card to the combat deck (only when equipped). Like, for the weapons, give them a card that is extra good against one 'type' of enemy (or types).

I don't have any thoughts on changing your combat system as it currently stands, as a turn-based card-game system it works rather well since the rebalancing. But your crafting and skill system has some pacing issues. Killing beasties is the best way to get crafting items for better gear, but unless you spend a shitload of time grinding combat while ignoring the quests and narrative, you aren't going to use much of it before the current game is already finished. Also, while I like the skill point system and enjoy having to prioritise my character build rather than just being able to grab every skill because there are more skills than points, those points are earned in narrative threads rather than through hunting and murder of woodland critters while most of the available skills have to do with improving my ability to kill things or not get killed myself. While clearly you are still building towards your endgame and this may not be an issue in the final product, maybe you want to add a simple XP progression system to combat and have some skill points be earned that way, maybe even split your skill tree between narrative skills and combat skills with points earned towards one or the other. As for the armour and weapons you can craft, it is far easier to just reap the same enemies a dozen times, sell the items dropped and buy it all from the arms dealer and never deal with it at all. Maybe the crafted gear needs to be a tier above the gear you can buy?

I was thinking of adding a companion with you if that’s not already implemented or plans to be implemented. For instants have the vampire fight with you or the elf.
