Work on Heart of the Bunker is going great! Very soon we’ll start showing small gameplay snippets!
But for now, let’s talk - we’re genuinely interested in your opinion.
Imagine the situation:
You’re stuck in a bunker, escape is impossible, and around you - silence and isolation.
Every day: sleep, food, shower, exercise, hygiene.
What would you do beyond that?
How would you spend your days and not lose your mind? Would you read books or keep a diary? Would you make notes to keep track of time? Talk to an AI or an imaginary companion? Explore every corner of the bunker? Play solitaire on the computer? Or come up with something completely unexpected?

Maybe have skill levels in this game like increase stats for intelligence and strength fitness. I mean even in a bunker you need to educate yourself as well as keeping yourself strong and fit in order to stay healthy 💖💪. Lastly Maybe have the bunker have secret rooms or something to dig a little deeper and find a different floor of a 'bunker' within a bunker.
Yeah, if it's a "realistic" bunker (i.e. about as roomy as a submarine, I assume) the most you could do is take really careful measurements to account for every square inch, which has its own appeal for me but I think I'm an outlier. I'm getting the sense this bunker is more of a "Rapture" or "Aperture Science" situation where exploration is more akin to hiking. I want to make a House of Leaves joke, but I can't quite put it together. 🤔 IDK, I'd want to see things like HVAC & electrical wiring plans that actually work, but I know that's probably a fringe preference.
Having some type of AI companion in the bunker you always talk to sounds like a great idea. Make it buggy with an attitude that you can't fix and with all the time spent going crazy trapped in there you start regularly copping an attitude with each other.
I'd be worried that the solitude would be too much to handle no matter what. If I have the luxury of knowing that's not the case... Then it partly depends on how I expect my time in the bunker to end. If I expect to get out at some point: I'd feel a strong urge for self-improvement, since I'd be worried about what other people would think of me when I see people again. Drawing, writing, game design, sculpting... those are all things I'm working on in real life for much the same reasons (plus for my own amusement). If I expected to never leave: I guess I'd still be worried about what people would think of me, except it would be hypothetical future explorers or archeologists lol. So I'd want to leave behind as much information as possible, structured and tailored for that audience. If I don't know/wildcard: lacking a certain future, I'd worry less about other people and live more in the moment. If I'm being responsible, that would mean trying to optimize the Bunker's operations like a management sim (growing more/better food, maintaining all the equipment, making my own organization system for the tools and stuff). If I'm being irresponsible, then porn. Across all cases: keeping a diary and playing video games. Exploring and reading are also very good options. But really, I'd want to work towards making something. If it's physical, like a diorama, that's probably better since it has a physical presence that anchors the time I'm spending to something tangible and real. In my case, right now I'm making a diorama so I can take photos or make stop motion with girlpla (like Frame Arms Girl or Megami Device). Which is kinda just a really elaborate version of talking to a sock puppet?
Well, if things like podcasts were accessible, those would be huge for me, because the more conversational ones can help fight back isolation. Honestly, if we all just think back to Covid, we can come up with great suggestions.
