Poll: Combat System
Should the enemies in Knightly Passions be nerfed in combat (have their stats lowered)?

I don’t think it needs to be nerfed. If the player takes the time to beef up their player the right way they are able to properly take on the enemies. They just need to know how to upgrade and take the time to actually grind the game and work on their character. I spent 38 hours in the original game on my first play through to make sure my character was ready to take on the enemies and when I got to the basilisk it was no problem! If they take their time they will be ready for end game!!!
in the past, i had bougth thro itch.io and i love the game. in my experience, The combat system itself is not difficult or complex, but it is frustrating. Certain cards are not efficient (either due to damage or stamina cost) and this could easily be balanced by adding a way to remove certain cards from the deck OR discard certain cards during combat. Another frustrating thing is consuming items; I think there should be a way to consume multiple foods (cooked or not) instead of one at a time. to end my report over my experience over the game. you have so much money that you dont need to sell stuff anymore and/or you dont have any need of money, however, many important features of the game only become available near the end of the game but you hardly use then if you had spend alot of time farming "card experience" to upgrade it. As i sad before, this game is good (7 or 8 out of 10), but, it need refinement over mechanics. i belive this dev has his mind and hearts on the rigth path to be a awesome developer, he/she just lack experience at "improve gameplay experience".
Make toggles for story mode to change difficulty options (NPC health, damage, resistances, etc.) More player choice is not a bad thing (players can even crank difficulty up if they want a more challenging story mode as well). Keep regular mode as is to keep the Dev vision of difficulty as standard.
I found the game in either mode to be well balanced. As in, every fight winnable with forethought and a decent strategy. The only difficulty would be if you are using auto combat against multiple opponents, and if one is that lazy the enjoyment of everyone else shouldn’t be nerfed. To my thinking, if you are going to nerf combat, you might as well make gold accumulation a daily salary and interest bearing bank. In other words, it becomes pointless.
If I'm doing story mode, then a fights only purpose is simply for dramatic effect. It should be a spectacle more than a difficulty. Heck you could remove the fights for story mode and make them narrative scenes. Repeatable ones like hunting just gives you the resources for the time spent, etc.
is there a difficulty level? maybe nerf it for Easy.
Rather than nerf the monsters id say buff the player, there were times i just didnt feel i was doing damage proportional to my level, however the amount of damage they did to me felt fair and encouraged careful gameplay using defense and defense skills etc
Make'em harder lol
I got no love nor hate for the combat system. I'd say dealer's choice on this one.
I happen to love the combat, I would love to see an option where you can disable the combat, or make it much easier, but I don’t want to get rid of it completely. There were literal times when I was stuck and I just went into the forest and hunted things to think about it,or to gather resources because I didn’t realize I didn’t need any anymore and finding that out felt like it was part of the story
So like a skip feature
