TIA'S RESCUE ROOM RENOVATIONS - Healing Old Wounds, One Room at a Time (Episode 3)
Sometimes renovating a room isn't really about changing the furniture, painting the walls, or adding a few decorations. Sometimes it's about trying to heal a broken heart.
Since losing Lucky and Jethro, my bedroom has never felt the same. The very place that once brought me comfort, surrounded by the unconditional love of my dogs, has become a painful reminder of who's missing. So much so that I no longer want to sleep in my own bed without them.
In this week's episode of Tia's Rescue Room Renovations, I'm hoping to do more than give my dog bedroom a makeover. I'm hoping to breathe new life into a space filled with memories, while finding a way to make room for new ones.
I know that no amount of decorating will ever replace my boys. But maybe, just maybe, by changing the room around me, I can begin to change how I feel when I'm in it.
Because sometimes healing isn't about letting go of the love we lost. It's about finding a way to feel that love again.

It's looking great! You've encouraged me to get some things moving in my house
Looks great so glad you were doing something for yourself. Sometimes that’s a good way to get out of the dumps is finding a project to work on.❤️🐾
Definitely inspirational!!
P. S. Maybe try just feeling the love that still lives in that room and that bed... You'll be able to feel your boys. It's all about perspective. 🐾💖
I just saw that toolkit on Amazon yesterday! Are the sconces USB battery rechargeable? I'm kind of guessing you didn't wire electrical for them, but just checking, I love sconces. Sounds like this might be the first time you've done stuff with hardware, and you're amazing! Of course you're suited to it, you can do anything. Nice work, it's looking really nice!
IS. THAT. TOOL. KIT. HOT. PINK. And your nails! I love it! I saw this posted early today and waited to watch as a treat because it is always fun; thank you. When my soul dog passed, I literally had to change my alarm clock a few minutes off so that when I woke up I wouldn’t see the same time and think she was still there. It’s too much. I am grateful you will have a more comfortable space which reflects the love that you deserve and so freely gave to your soul dogs. Also this is very random but I love acorns (I used to have a lucky acorn that got lost along the way of the path I’m currently on)- even if you don’t like it, you can always make it a metaphor- every acorn contains the potential of an entire tree. And the reminder that you never know what starting something new and beautiful will lead into. Thank you as always for the good energy ❤️⚜️
They take a piece of heart when they go. I have loved them all, but some are harder to move on from than others. 💔🐾💔🐾
I have that tool kit and love it Would you like me to make an afghan for you
I'm gonna have to get the toolkit. I love it!
And I'm obsessed with that sound machine. I went and bought it after you shared the link, and I absolutely love it. It's great for the dogs, and I've actually been sleeping well myself!!!
I'm so glad you did this!!! I have been so inspired!! I have other rooms that I plan to do when I'm done with my bedroom! So thank you for this ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can't find your exact tool kit. Will keep checking back :)
LOVE the tool kit - I'm ordering one now. Also loving the renovations. After my husband died I did a lot of work on my house to make it MINE. Worth every penny. Also I found some really nice, and reasonably priced, things on Wayfair. Indoor/outdoor rugs are greater homes with greyfaces :)
THANK YOU!
You're doing a fantastic job . Take care ❤️
It’s looking great! I’m enjoying this series and it has inspired me to get the stuff done that I keep saying “one day” about.
I have that tool kit! I love it!!
