I reside in Southern California, so I’m quite familiar with this situation. During election years, political leaders are reluctant to acknowledge existing problems or admit that they are actively working to address them. Unfortunately, homeless individuals are often the ones responsible for abusing dogs, and law enforcement seems to be acting under the impression that they have been given a stand-down directive for dealing with homeless individuals.
I've been watching Joey for a while. It's abhorrent what is happening on skid row. The lack of concern by the politicians is disgusting. All who have extra $ to spare, please donate to help the people with boots on the ground caring for these dogs safety. They are getting medical treatment for the ones who need it and it's most of them that do. Thank you, Tia, for posting about this!

Hello I love listening to Tia talk California has the most homeless then. Any state in the country the homeless dose not believe in animal rights I do like when homeless has dogs but I don’t like it thay. Don’t have the money to take really care of them. I have seen the homeless and dogs here in Dallas Texas and it is very sad. Politics does not about the homeless animals or people so I am glad that there is stand up for Pitt.

I agree it is a huge shame and a horrifying disgrace!!! The one thing I can say aside from sitting in shock and horrified disbelief is that if the un-housed do get those private buildings to do their “stuff.” It might make helping all the abused dogs get rescued an easier and safer thing both for the people on the ground doing the rescuing and for reporters too because the un-housed people will be too preoccupied and busy elsewhere..

Just disgusting, I do follow some of the rescues in LA and donate when I can but this is a problem beyond donations. I just cannot believe nothing is being done
