"Highway Star" (Deep Purple) Solo Lesson/Analysis

Can't believe I somehow completely forgot about this legendary solo, but today's the day to put things right! Highway Star is one of the very earliest example of Neoclassical shredding, with Ritchie Blackmore showcasing some arpeggios and alternate picking licks that were wayyyy ahead of their time (1971!?).

It may seem somewhat straightforward at first glance but there's actually some deceptively challenging things going on here; especially the high amount of bends low down the neck which require a decent amount of hand strength to get consistent. Insanely fun solo to jam along to though and should absolutely be a part of every Metal/Rock guitarist's catalogue!

Good luck and don't forget to share your progress with everyone in the Discord server!
