small, but quite big update - tyres mod

I updated the mod's post, you can download it again. There's a bunch of changes in it, some of it is testing. The biggest update I have, is the new tread pattern options in the parts selector. Currently "High Poly Wheels New 3 Div" is the best, but there's no adjustable sub divisions on the tread yet.

other things we've done;

- align sidewall nodes, for better deform

- remove friction loss for super high res

- add sliding friction comp?

- limit "weight -> tread stiffness" calculation

- make it so people can have no paired nodes

- remove dupecheck

- added "treadReinfOptions" in case vehicle mod creators want to have the slot available

- scintilla looses stability at ?? speed? (apparently floating tyres at speed. Paired nodes?) (probably)

Now tyres should be better at speed with the "High Poly Wheels New 3 Div" version. I won't remove the old ones, but keep in mind that they are going to be depreciated for the new pattern.

High Polly wheels seems to completely break every non-vehicle sending a "Cannot read properties of undefined ('reading wheelspeed') error, Idk where else to post about this, so I posted it here

I have now found another bug: we can't step out of the cars, so career mode is not playable with the mod.

Idk if it me but when I try to use the High Poly Wheels New 3 Div version specifically on the default truck, the truck just starts sliding around and making the tire squeal sound as soon as you equip them and ive tried different settings and couldn't get them to stop sliding. Another thing that ive notice is that I can't seem to spawn in the snowman (when you exit the vehicle) or spike strips (havent tried any other props yet) and idk how to fix this.

After I played a bit with the 3-div version, except for the fact that the wheels explode at first (which could be problematic in career mode), when lowering the stiffness it works great, even going 200 km/h with the Scintilla. I also tried with the Bolide and K-Series, and they're both great. For the one with larger tires, it's not even exploding — just working great. So it just needs a few adjustments to the stiffness for it to work. The list of cars I tried without touching anything: Autobello Piccolina 110 (M): drifts to the right and loses its hubcaps → fix: front "overall stiffness -10%" | rear "overall stiffness -25%" Autobello Stambecco 505-F (M): works great ✅ Bruckell Bastion SE 3.5 (A): wheels explode → fix: front & rear "overall stiffness -20%" Bruckell LeGran S V6 (A): drifts to the right and loses hubcaps → fix-ish: front & rear "overall stiffness -10%" but still loses hubcaps even at 30% Bruckell Moonhawk 378 V8 Luxe (A): works great ✅ Bruckell Nine Deluxe Coupe (M): tire puncture → fix: front & rear "overall stiffness -20%" Civetta Bolide 350 (M): wheels explode → fix: front & rear "overall stiffness -20%" Civetta Scintilla Race (Sequential): wheels explode → fix: front & rear "overall stiffness -20%" I haven’t tried the others yet, but I do think it will be the same — either exploding or puncturing. Reducing overall stiffness by 10 to 20% should fix it. Thanks a lot for this wonderful mod!

Well, I do love this mod for crawling ! But for racing I can't, it's too slippery. But for crawling it's crazy good

yeah, that's something I'm working on, but for now, how's the new 3 div version working for you?

Noah Foster · September 21, 2025

The new 3 div tires just explode anytime I try to use them.

How is the performance hit now? Is "treadReinfOptions" for like 10-12 ply commercial truck tires? Amazing work.

it's always going to burden your CPU more, but consider frame limiting your game to less than your game would normally get. You'll have less fps most of the time, but it'll be more consistent. the biggest performance hit will be during the spawning phase, but I'm sure you've noticed that lol
