Sideways control schemes for Crossout
For Crossout players, here are Autohotkey scripts for sideways controls. Obviously this means you need to install Autohotkey. It's free to use. I have attached my old video to this post to show those scripts in action.
NOTE - These do not alter the game in any way, these simply re-map your keyboard buttons. I had to put this note here, in case some dumb scrub says "omg hAckS!" These scripts simply re-map your keyboard buttons, nothing more, nothing less. This is no different from a gaming keyboard, where you're able to re-map each button on your keyboard. If you have re-mappable gaming keyboard, you can do same using your keyboard software.
I also included reverse controls, this can be useful on goliath builds that are built backwards to have wedge in front.
You can modify these in notepad and re-map the pause / suspend button, which is currently set to Enter. Reason for that, is so that you can properly use the in-game chat. If you would try typing using these controls, then WASDQE buttons would be all mixed up and out comes some esawedq. So when you press enter once, script is paused and pressing enter again un-pauses the script.
Don't run more than 1 at a time. It's best to use VoiceAttack (has free demo version that is enough for this purpose) and make profiles in there, either voice activated or by a simple hotkey. So you can easily swap between these control schemes. F24 key terminates these scripts, but as you know modern keyboards only have F1 - F12, but by using VoiceAttack, you can send F13 - F24 key presses to your computer. So when using VoiceAttack, you can easily swap between control schemes. I have set them like so:
CTRL+Left Arrow = left sideways controls CTRL+Right Arrow = Right sideways controls CTRL+Down arrow = reverse controls CTRL+Up arrow = default controls (just preses F24 and terminates all scripts)
You can set all that in VoiceAttack. So all you need running when playing, is VoiceAttack. You can either say "left sideways controls" or just press a hotkey on your choosing and it will start the script for you (you need to set it up first).
It's quite easy and straight forward, but if you have any questions on how to setup VoiceAttack profiles, then feel free to ask dowb below in comments.
IS IT SAFE? I have NEVER heard a single case, in any game, where any kind of anti-cheat has banned someone for using VoiceAttack or Autohotkey. Those are programs just like any other (like photoshop, screen recorder, streaming software, nvidia filters..etc), these are not even considered as "cheat" software. Autohotkey was designed to help perform various tasks in windows and VoiceAttack, in fact, is designed for gaming. Lot of developers are actually supporting VoiceAttack and working with them.
