BeamNG EXTREME Supersonic Wind Mod
It's FREE mod, but please do consider supporting my work :-)
I made fun mod for BeamNG - Supersonic wind! it can easily toss vehicles around as if they were made of paper, speed goes beyond unreasonable speeds so you can crush cars into pancakes and most likely break game's physics and crash entire game! Currently max speed is set to 20000km/h, i think that's ENOUGH for any destructive scenario you have in mind.
This is NOT same as "ground wind speed" in the environment settings, at first that's what i tried modifying, but then i realized it has 0 effect on vehicles, it only affects trees and grass, so its visuals only, my mod is designed for destroying cars or creating challenging scenes.
Controls:
Wind speed can be controlled using hotkeys only, which you must first set in controls. Once mod is installed, search for "wind" in the in-game controls and map them (by default they're unmapped).
Currently each step increases speed by 10km/h at a time and changes wind rotation angle by 10 degrees. You can hold wind inc/dec buttons for continuous effect (does not work on wind rotation).
Wind Speed Display:
I made optional wind speed UI app to go with it. you can find it in the UI elements/apps, you can add it into UI layout like any other "app". It displays current wind speed and that's it.
How to Install:
Download SupersonicWind.zip
drop it in your beamng_user_path/current/mods/ folder
it should automatically be activated, but you can enable/disable it in the in-game mod manager.
Tested and working on "Alpha v.0.39.4" - it's the version seen at bottom left while in-game (should work on future versions if they don't make major changes to game mechanics/physics).
Known Bugs:
When resetting wind speed to 0 or decreasing it to 0, wind sound does not stop, to make it stop, reset and then increase it by 2 ticks and then decrease it again. sometimes by driving the car also resets the sound.
ChangeLog:
V1.1
fixed wind speed display (it was 3.6x too high before, now it's more realistic)
added hold-to-inc/dec so you can hold increase/decrease instead of tapping (does not apply for wind direction)
fixed some minor things that might become issues in future updates (like cAsE insensitivity)
