whoever designed these clips is IDIOT!

who the fuck came up with this idiotic 1-sided clip design on RAM slots? i would really wish to interview that person and ask what the fuck was he/she thinking when designing this!

HOW is this suppose to be good? reason why i'm making angry post about it, is because 2 of my computers have those idiotic slots and i think all modern motherboards use this idiotic design now. i say IDIOTIC, because:

1) you have to TWIST the RAM sticks to force it in there, that's because the bottom half has a non-moving clip, so you have to angle the RAM and by doing that, it gets wedged and you have to put fair amount of force on it to push it in place, which can physically damage the RAM and/or motherboard. I've seen clips of people breaking their RAM by doing that and usually i'd say "idiots", but in this case i say IDIOT design. i haven't broken any RAM myself, but sometimes i feel like i want to, cuz it's so difficulty getting it in place.

2) RAM keeps coming loose on its own, i didn't touch my secondary PC for like a year and when i booted it up, it only had 4gb RAM instead of 16gb. obviously this means 3 sticks came loose. it's behind my TV so its not easy to reach it, i had to take it out from there, open it up and re-seat the RAM .. nope ... still not 16gb, try again ... i had to do this like 5-6 times, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? who made this shit? often i can also hear that "crunchy" sound, it's when plastic is about to break, it's really painful sound to my ears, slightly more pressure and it might snap.

3) You never know if RAM sits properly, this is the main reason why i'm making this post. I recently was swapping a HDD out and i had to copy the stuff from it, connecting it via USB would literally take like 12 hours of copying, couldn't bother with it, so i temporarily connected it internally, but apperently i somehow nudge the RAM. my main PC 8gb sticks and one stick came loose. After that i corrected it and it "worked" fine, but games started to crash. at first i thought game had a bad patch, but then other games started to crash aswell, like every 5-15 mins and it became seriously annoying and i knew something was really wrong. Altho it's still mind boggling why only a game crashes, while windows and other stuff runs fine?! i get that running a game puts lot of load on RAM (lot of data is being read/written), but if RAM has bad connection, why does only game crash and nothing else? if there's connection issue in RAM, shouldn't entire windows crash?

anyway i shut pc down and re-seated the RAM once again, i was able to play fine for a day, i put PC to hibernate and today PC wouldn't boot. fans and stuff turns on, but no signal on monitor. it was quite clear to me it was RAM .. AGAIN!! and it WAS! so i shut PC down and touched the RAM a bit. quite literally, i just put finger on it, pushed and wiggled ... yes i know, sounds dirty .. and it probably is, but that "fixed" it. now PC booted, but i have a feeling this isn't over. most likely my games start crashing again.

i have NEVER had such issues with 2-sided RAM clips. on 2 sided you open the clips, gently push the RAM in place so clips start to tighten and then you tighten both side clips and that will pull the RAM tightly in the slot. EZ PZ LEMON SQUEEZY! .. but nOooOOO some fucking "gEnIuS" had to come up with those autistic 1-sided clips that DO NOT WORK! i'd really like to ask this person what is the point of those autistic clips?

biggest issue is that bottom side has no moving clip, so RAM is not under tension, it sits there loosely and micro-vibrations will slowly nudge it out. if your PC would be flat on table, then gravity would do its work and hold it in place, but when PC is up-right, then it will slowly start nudging out. this is so frikking annoying!

it's probably a bad idea and won't work, but i'm at point where i feel like drilling 2 holes thru motherboard and putting a tie clip thru it to hold the RAM in place. there's probably not enough free room on motherboard to drill the wholes as it would break some circuitry, but if this shit keeps happening i might have to do some other kind of repair on it, cuz those clips simply DO NOT work!

... bottom line: this is what happens when idiots get to design computers who have no idea how stuff is suppose to work. i can already tell this person has very low IQ and probably thought "it's EASIER to clip the RAM in place if instead of 2 clips you only have 1 clip" .. those kind idiotic minds just have no common sense. 2 clips is easier, since you don't have to TWIST the RAM and it slips in place much easier and faster, therefore this 1 clip design is total disaster, i don't know how manfuacturers and designers do not realize this.

umm maybe because they have never maintained nor repaired their own PC? either way this stuff is annoying.
