Early Access: They Never Knew
An old comic strip from the late Argentinian cartoonist Quino (author of Mafalda or Quinoterapia) is the inspiration for this cartoon. In the original, a couple meets at a museum, talks, and decides to meet at a cafe with the name of their (common) favorite painting. Unfortunately, one goes to the Monna Lisa Cafe while the other waits at the Gioconda Coffee Shop.

The idea is the same (scaled down considerably 😳). Instead of a favorite painting, I tried to play with the use of acronyms in the industry and how sometimes people that work closely together call things differently. Here are some examples that I considered:
UID (in the comic) means User Interface Design (or User Interaction Design) for designers, but developers will consider it a Unique Identifier.
Designers typically say a button is a CTA (Call To Action). Developers will call it a button.
It looks like designers use "Tooltip" for many things developers call in different ways: tooltip, banner, dialog, etc.
Ultimately, it all boils down to one thing, as this famous cartoon strip from Calvin & Hobbes states: we both may be speaking English, but we don't speak the same language.
