10 Cool CodePen Demos
For the past 2 years, I have been publishing articles titled "10 Cool CodePen Demos of [MONTH] [YEAR]" (here's an example from last month). I posted them on my blogs on Medium and DEV (and occasionally on Hashnode, too). And I decided to do some things:
It should be published in a section on my blog. They will still be crossposted on the other sites mentioned above, but the canonical source should be my site, not an external publisher.
I'll launch a newsletter and include them there. I have been publishing these lists consistently for two years. I probably should have gone the newsletter route a lot sooner.
So, over the weekend a worked on a small site to host the lists. Coding it was fun, but the real time consuming part was repopulating the content from external sites into my site. I created some scrappers and was able to semi-automatize the process... but not all :(
The website is here: https://alvaromontoro.com/10-cool-codepen-demos/. A big pro is that all the data is in a database, so I can have a simple script that returns the content formatted in different formats so it's easier to publish on all the sites (and maybe consider cross-posting somewhere else).
I will be announcing the section this week (this post is public, so technically speaking, this is the announcement, but not many people read my articles here 😅)
