When the first CR-V rolled off the production line in 1997, the SUV market was a very different place. Many were truck-based, rugged, and perhaps a bit… agricultural. Honda, ever the innovator, saw a gap. They wanted something that could handle a bit of rough stuff, offer a commanding view of the road, and still be perfectly at home dropping the kids off at school or navigating city streets. The CR-V was their answer.
