#165 Not Necessary, Not Sufficient w/ Andrew Kliman
This is part two of our discussion with Prof Andrew Kliman, where we debate my current love affair with ‘The Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution’ by Jan Appel and the Group of International Communists.
Enjoy!

I havent really read any of the parecon stuff but from what Ive heard I dont really understand how they could handle a crisis voluntarily. It seems like his arguments about that would apply even more to parecon than the labor token system. The chapter about the authoritarian libertarian socialists come to mind.
I'm having a hard time deciding if Andrew is being fair?
Well he slates it for being too decentralised and centralised...
Kliman is lib Bob Avakian, which is why he seems to only engage with his followers.
I don’t think that’s fair. Kliman co-hosts a podcast where he often talks to people out of his direct circle of influence, and even had that debate with Charles Murray on value form theory that Tom mentioned on there. On the flip side, Bob is out hiding somewhere in Europe, despite no on looking for him, while his glass eyed followers try to convince everyone they come across that he’s the reincarnation of Karl Marx, Lenin, Mao, and Jesus in a singular corporal form
Excellent work Tom. I was cheering you along all the way. You done us proud.
these were so freaking good
