Default Sexual Orientation Override
Since I’ve decided not to follow EA in their mission to make The Sims 4 even more unplayable than it already is, here’s something people have been asking me for a while. I’ve had it in my own Mods folder for months, but never shared because it will almost certainly break every patch — it edits the CAS Client tuning to change the default sexual orientation from what Maxis has set.

The problem:
Whenever you create a new Sim — or the game generates one — their sexual orientation is, for some reason, set to:
Romantic attraction: None
Sexual attraction: Both sexes
This affects all newly created Sims, random townies, and all premade Sims prior to the patch that added this system. I find this setting pointless and irritating, because it often makes romances impossible (unlike the old “everyone’s bi” setup) and it messes with game dynamics in ways you won’t notice until it’s in your way.
I'm not about wasting time changing pixels "sexual orientation" as if "sexuality" mattered to bloody code, so I always forget the option even exists in cas.
The solution:
I made a tuning override to roll back the defaults to something more playable. You get three flavours, all interchangeable:
Default to opposite sex — All Sims will be created attracted to the opposite sex by default (unless you change it manually).
Default to same sex — All Sims will be created attracted to the same sex by default.
Default to both sexes — My preferred option, which restores the old “everyone’s bi” behaviour and removes the problem entirely.
So every ideologue, left and right of the spectrum, can get equally pissed at me giving people the freedom to set up the game they paid for to their liking instead of the group-think approved one. Only pick one, they conflict with each other.
I’ll also include instructions for editing the tuning yourself in case EA breaks this (again). Be warned: it’s fiddly and annoying to do manually.
Also, since this will conflict with other mods that remove accessories from newly generated Sims, this file applies the accessories removal too, and I'll include the same edit for pets and horses. This only means Sims in cas will not be generated with random accessories.
This is not for beginners. We're dealing with these files: client cas tuning for Human Sims and for Human-werewolf Sims. They're basically identical and each has an associated SimData file.
They determine a number of things like the chance of a Sim created in cas to be wearing makeup or accessories upon creation and which sexuality options, gender options etc. is assigned by default.
I suggest you use notepad++ with double window to edit the tuning and SimData file together because they must match.
The tuning side is pretty much plain english and rather easy to understand:
In the screenshot above the setting means that the trait "attracted to males" is given by default to male Sims, not given to female Sims, who get the unselected option instead. The trait "attracted to females" is given to female Sims, not given to male Sims, who get the unselected option instead.
The SimData file is a lot harder to navigate, but the options are the same:
1 means true, 0 means false. You can identify the trait given by the ID even if the SimData file lacks comments. The SimData file is the mirror image of the tuning so if an option is set to true in the tuning it must be 1 in the SimData file. To find the correct section I suggest using the hex of the string:
Search for the same hex in the SimData file and you'll have found the mirror section:
Set the option to mirror whatever you set in the tuning for the edit to be applied correctly.

Hi. Are there any new conflicts with the mod? I have a file so that the whole world is straight. But lately, the game has been actively generating gay or bi students.

What does Moder's personal attitude have to do with it? A man made a mod for those who want to play the standard world without having to manually change their preferences. If you don't like it, no one forces you to use this mod.

is there a way I can make it for my sims 2 allready have a descired number of children they want, for example if they want 5 but have 2 allready minus the number from the ones they allready have, instead of it still being 5 it will be 3 left as they allready have 2, and have it allready set to random so it always changes on it own for all sims and npcs, which wont have to keep being done manually for each sim.
Thank you for this. I hope it keeps working for a long time. I still would like to find a universal CAS mod so players can set everything in one place at the start of a save file. If you want a world of all women, or all aliens, etc. Why not? You posted about a way to do this in the code of the game. I looked at it and spent a lot of time trying it, then ran out of time to actually play the game. I don't make money from Sims4, I've spent far more than I feel good about. I really think EA could do better. Anyway, I've been killing off Sims households rather than adapting them individually. I will be glad to have another option.

That's cool! thanks Zero! You know what is cool too? If someone make a mod to automatically change the looks of existing NPC sims to look prettier and more handsome! Currently I noticed all female NPCs are either too tall or too fat and uses male bodyframe with wide shoulders. And for the male NPCs, they are either young but seem weak (e.g., small shoulders), or old and frail. And the proportion of races (skin colour) seems out of wrack. I get that they are trying to make sure everyone who plays the game feels included but I fear it's at the expense of immersion. Wouldn't it be cool if there's a mod that just takes a look at the population statistics of a real country, say America (because I assume that's where most people plays this game) and just mirror its race proportion that way. Surely that's more inclusive than, whatever this is.

Hey Zero, just finished testing this with only the updated version of this mod and core library installed, and I found that when you create a new couple in cas and set them to be married, it changes their orientation when entering live mode to be bisexual and exploring. I was using the heterosexual module. Just wanted to let you know what I found. Thank you!

Thank you! Did you have a chance to test if this mod can be used with WW? Actually, playing with WW installed I noticed I don't have the sexuality tab in CAS and, unfortunately, even WW's attraction system can't still overcome the problem of having most of the sims I created to be heterosexual ending up with "waning attraction for opposite sex".
I don't use WW so I don't know.

Probably to force players to engage with the option. I don't even engage with the option to set other outfits besides everyday and sleep go figures if I'm up for wasting time on "gender options"

Changing the tags in CAS doesn't require coding, only the Sims 4 studio. You only need to override the stuff you want to change and set the tags to feminine/masculine, restrict opposite gender, restrict opposite frame. It's pretty easy and there are plenty of tutorials on how to use Sims 4 studio for CAS stuff.

The closest thing I could find to the flag thing is one that replaces them with "other side" flags (Pro life, Don't tread on me, confederate) unless you think thats worse.

For the first time in YEARS (over 5!) Im reloading Sims 4 again because of your mods! I see sims 4 as a lost cause but these mods are amazing. Please continue what you are doing!!! I just want to play a normal game without all the propaganda and forcing all these changes on us.
It is a lost cause... I've had the temptation to give up on it many times in the past 3 years or so. The more they go on messing with it, the worse it gets.
Hi Zero, have you created a mod that re-establishes sims honoring the gendered bathroom doors that matches their gender? I figured if anyone would create such a mod, you would based on your other content :). I've been researching it lately and according to the forums, EA disabled that feature. From what I've noticed in my game play, my sims ALWAYS go to the opposite bathroom door to the their gender, which I'm starting to doubt is just a coincidence. Hoping you have some insight into this, but nonetheless, I appreciate your work in the modding community!!
They already respect the gender of the bathrooms in unmodded game. From what I remember that's wicked whims doing and there was a setting in the options to restore gendered bathrooms, but I haven't used that mod in ages so I can't say if that's still the case.

Social causes are the quickest way to make money nowadays. Open hostility is better than fake support. By shoving forced representation down people's throat they're making things worse not better, and those who suffer the consequences of it are the people who've been represented then getting accused of being the cause the representation happened in the first place when it's the multimillion company exploiting the issue the main offender.

About time! I have deleted most of the pre-made sims and replaced with my own. Same sex couples never used to bother me until they forced pronouns on us. The correct thing to do is just have two options Blank and Customize. So until EA makes the change I will continue to separate the same sex couples (which gives me extra households) if a Sim is needed for game play I change the pronouns to F/Wad. As much as I dislike our current president and what his party have done to this country, he is going after the trans-gender hard and I am finding it difficult to support them.
That's exactly the backslash I saw coming a long ago and was afraid of: once you push social engineering over the edge and shove things down people's throat you don't get more acceptance you get saturation. Things are not normalised by making them too visible, what's normal becomes invisible. Representation only causes that sort of saturation pushing people who've always been neutral over the edge so they start being bothered by things that never bothered them. And the representation crowd won't understand this simple truth about human nature: when something is normal and accepted it becomes invisible. But anyway I don't think acceptance was ever the goal, applause was or, in case of EA, easy money by taking advantage of society's moral hysteria.

And why did you concede to perfect strangers the power to influence your emotions? People can only have the power on you that you concede them to have, the control is always in your hands not theirs. If you had that experience in a male dominated environment they were testing your resilience and ability to navigate their hierarchy, you're supposed to fight back as viciously not to cry in a corner.
Once again, learned something valuable. I have taken a few short online courses in Python and find it very interesting. Seeing someone with experience create the strings, and witnessing how it works in real-life situations is fascinating. Thanks for sharing!

I have a mod that removes the pronouns from the premades but doesn't remove the option in CAS. The mod in in the "politics BS remover" post.
I love the diversity, including the diversity of gameplay. Thank you! In the last game though, I realised this constant pushing to couple up from my parents and society crawled in my game, and it's so annoying. I (my sims) want to be left alone, they want to just chill and work on themselves. I wish there was something to remove all this bullshit about love from my game, or at least to dial it back a few notches. Lovelovelovelovelovelovelove. Ppl in real life are rarely aware that love is actually hard work rather than just weee-huh, fun, sex, babies. Sorry for the rant, lol. I just set everything to my more or less liking via mccc. I'm much like you but I see coupling in game just as a strategic move to have kids to use them to make money or work towards some other goal, cause the rare times I play, I play only for goals and achievements, so everyone's bisexual gives me the least restrictions as possible. If it were for me I’d remove the whole romance aspect form every game.
