Don't like this one as much. Adds age to you. The jacket at least. Mat. is spectacular 👌 as always! And the skirt! There it is! 🥰

Absolutely 💯!

“Clip your curves” merch would be hysterical - particularly if it could be incorporated around the bustline. However, “I sew over pins” would be more on brand. Don’t let the bullies win!

A pin dish with "sew over it" would be rather sassy 🤣 Health and safety would never allow it!

I love how the pleats in the back peplum look like folded up wings! This is so beautiful and that silk is amazing. Thank you for sharing your process and i hope to one day make something half as pretty as this!

Thank you Kathy!! This silk being so pretty does half of the work for me 🤩

Just stunning and timeless… You could put an 1890’s walking skirt under it, or a 1940s Aline or even a 2000s short pencil skirt… I can even see Rachel from Blade Runner in it!

Thank you Wendy! I shall endeavor to style in all of those ways throughout the future!!

OMFG!! THIS. IS. STUNNING. I love this SO much (obviously, due to my use of all caps 😆). Most things you make feel like they are my most favorite thing you've made, but , just ..wow, this is now my most, most favorite thing you've made! This would be beautiful worn with a darker colored skirt of slacks to really bring out those hem details, but I also love that skirt so much too.

Thank you Jen! I'm looking forward to wearing it with any of my black skirts for sure, velvet, wool, patent, all would work really ❤

Such beautiful fabric. You made a gorgeous jacket. The cicada detail at the back is so good that no matter what you add it to, it just makes the jacket.

T
The Closet Historian · October 28, 2023

Thank you Marie! The fabric was so stunning to work with, makes the project even more fun ✨

Wow, fabulous. Your designers eye knows when the embellishments are just enough, there’s never too much, it never becomes overdone. And you know how to make a dramatic exit! I am in complete awe of your talent.

Just out of curiosity, since you enjoy a good tailored moment - do you ever think you'd attempt to draft Galliano's pin-up blazer? The one with the weird collar.

I'm not against trying it sometime for sure! But I actually prefer the mini-houndstooth fabric dress from that particular collection, the one with the (shocking-I know) asymmetric skirt drape 😂 Dita Von Teese has one and wears it pretty often, and I would too if I had one!
