Early Access // This Week's Video
Back with a 1950's catalog this week! I'm still working on getting these pages up on Pinterest, so those will be available to browse later in the week.
I originally planned to have a look book up this week, but then while I was setting up the lighting and camera, I pulled a cord a little too far to plug it in, got it caught on the tripod, and sent the DSLR camera timbering right over into my face...so that hit my upper lip area hard enough I was just glad it didn't chip a tooth! I had a little cut under my nostril from the impact of the hard camera on face, and the inside of my lip split a little, but the bruising was actually surprisingly minimal. I'm all healed up now and will finally be filming the look book today, but ahhh the joys of being clumsy!!
Thank you so much for your patience and support ❤

I think I solved your strapless longline bra puzzle! Have you checked out the Goddess Lace Longline Bra GD0689 model? It's on Amazon and HerRoom and it even comes in black.
Your videos are among the few that my honey will sit and watch with me. This time we talked about our favorite shape of dress, both ooo'd and ahhh'd over the cool pocket details on the coats, and decided which hats we like the best. It's so lovely to share with him - he knows how much sewing is my self-care and I love knowing that he appreciates the styles I'm drawn to and attempt (ahem, sometimes successfully) to make. Thanks for the wonderful content, Bianca!
Everyone loves a good pocket detail! ❤️✨
I got a very nice wool princess coat from Emmy Design Sweden a few years ago. It’s a bit dramatic for my usual style, but it’s nice and warm and fun to wear. They also do very nice vintage-style knitwear, including skirts and dresses.
Ooo yeah Emmy are excellent. I had one of their cardigans (I gifted it to an acquaintance) and it was top tier quality for sure!
I think your catalog videos are my favorite. Its so cool to see everything and I like listening to you point stuff out and compare to earlier and later styles.
Thank you Elizabeth!
DSLR of doom tried to take you out. The only conclusions are it is either cursed due to the attempt or lucky since it didn't do more damage. Cataloging Catalogs videos are always nice because it's nonstop Bianca commentary...it's entertaining and edifying.
I'm just so infinitely relived it didn't crack my tooth that I do feel lucky in the end! Plus it made me slow down, and the video will probably be better for that 😅
Oh my, I can so relate to being clumsy. Hopefully, it wasn't too painful.
I was just SO relived it didn't chip my tooth, even if my lip took a little beating 😅
I need that black velvet jacket with all the buttons. My grandmother had a few of those hats, and at least one of the coats. I think my mother still has that first gold brooch.
All black velvet suits are must haves 🖤
My elementary school orchestra teacher had a black and pink bathroom and possibly a kitchen in black and pink too. I definitely remember her talking about the black and pink bathroom.
She sounds fabulous ✨
I LOVE this series! It’s such a relaxing jaunt thru the past and I too wish I could buy everything in these catalogues. I’m sorry your camera equipment attacked. Happy to hear you’re okay!
Thank you Jaime! The problem is not being able to place our orders for sure 🤩
BTW Linennaive has several lovely princess cut coats, expensive but really well made and so pretty!
I haven't heard of them so I'll have to check them out!
As a fellow klutz, I feel your pain. Currently sporting a cracked Vertebra from falling on my ass...the klutziest of klutzes
Oh no!! That's worse that a split lip by far, I hope you heal up fast! ❤
I'm going back through your videos on creating that basic block. I want to begin again, from scratch, and make a whole new wardrobe for my new silouette! Thanks to you, your good example and teachings, this is even possible.
You've got this!! It's so worth the effort ❤
I simply love the shirt waist/dresses...and the jumpers, too.
We had a lime green tiled bathroom with black fixtures growing up… when we were very little, we routinely reap-enacted dinosaurs drowning in the tar pits in our black bathtub….
This sounds like a most excellent bathroom to me! There is a historic house near my neighborhood (I say historic, this is the 'old west' most of the house is from like 1928 😂) with a yellow and blue bathroom, and another that is lilac purple!
I love the catalogue videos and how you always blow past the children’s wear.😅 The pages with fabric are my favourite. Sorry to hear about your run-in with the tripod. Glad you are ok!
Thank you Penny! Indeed I do not care for the chillens, though a good friend of mine just had a baby girl, so my "eccentric aunt with many cats who might be a witch" destiny has begun ✨ They live on the east coast so maybe I'll meet her when I move into my suitably spooky place over there. Mostly I need to have a dress up box of dreams I think. I have fully recovered from the camera incident now thankfully!
The suits! I mean, come on. Adding to my spring sewing lineup.
The suit are delicious 🤩 That Lilli Ann one and the deco pocked buddy are must haves 😂
How I love these catalogue reviews! A peak into another era. This one comes close to silhouettes I know from pictures from my mom when she was young 😍
Thanks Diana!
