I was very disappointed to learn that fabric.com is owned by Amazon. It's a shame because they carry a LOT of Liberty London, so I will be taking my business elsewhere... Mood's pretty good and Stonemountain & Daughter and Harts Fabrics in Berkeley and Santa Cruz respectively are great shops to support. And I am always looking for vintage fabrics on Etsy and Ebay. You might want to check out @shopmakethislook for amazing vintage fabric auctions!
I love fabric.com and am slowly building up a stash of swatches. I've never been disappointed. The staff at my Joanne's is clueless about fabric and notion names so they are no help at all. . I don't like Hobby Lobby's employee treatment so I never shop there. Tried Vogue fabrics but the swatches were minuscule so that was also a no-go. Stay safe, there will be plenty of time for going out later.
Thinking of you in these anxious and uncertain times. I enjoy your Patreon and Channel content, though want to say to please be kind to yourself. Do things that sooth the soul. Try not to feel pressure from us. We're here to support you and we're a community that will support each other. In times like this, it can bring out the best in people (and of course the reverse). I think we are givers and we will support each other through these times. Stay safe; warmest wishes from Down Under <3
Thank you Rhonda! <3
Hi Bianca, I just came across a lovely story on Good News Network that Joann Fabrics is giving away free fabric scraps curbside for anyone sewing cloth face masks at home. I thought you might be interested or could mention it on your channel for those seamstresses who’d like to help.
Unfortunately I have heard from several Joann employees over on instagram that the company are not adequately providing for their staff nor taking the safety of their staff and customers seriously enough in their rush to both donate small packages yes, but also sell fabric for masks. Reports of "Black Friday" like crowds at the cut counter sound like a recipe for contagion. I am actually reconsidering ever shopping there again in the future after some of the staff reached out to me with their testimonials as the topic was broached on instagram. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/k7e9ez/joann-fabrics-employees-are-furious-theyre-working-in-crowded-stores-after-the-company-declared-itself-essential
Love the little green iridescent top. I just wish my arms were thin enough to wear something like that! The black one's more my style🤗. Love the raincoat, too. I found a place for N95 fabric (Fibri.com) and am busy making masks, both surgical and N95. After those, I'm starting my wedding dress (dark bronze Silk velvet) and then finishing last year's pajama pants for my kiddos. Then, I plan to make my bodice sloper and your black blouse!! Hope you all are healthy out there! Karel
Thank you Karel! You are certainly keeping busy indeed!
Hi, I found this when I woke up today, and it brought me so much joy. I love that iridescent gren little number (if you can say that about a blouse or is that only for dresses?) I would love to know what kind of material that is, and where you found it. I'm beginning to think about a new competition dress and if that fabric is suitable it might find it's way there. I must go through your jewelry videos again to because that broach is lovely. A bit art déco and a bit disco? I'm so happy for you that you have bought that rain coat. I will have to investigate that shop because that coat is fun, and it rains a lot where I live. I hope everyone is well and sane still, during this debacle, and thank you Ms. Historian for your video. With greetings from Sweden. Yours, Ann
Thank you! The fabric is from Mood Fabrics https://www.moodfabrics.com/metallic-green-polyester-lame-122827
I know I literally always say this but you look so lovely in this, Bianca! And that coat is like a dream 💕
Thank you Clara!
I love your (sort of) bobbed hair! Do you still have bangs and you hid them or are you growing them out? Either way, super cute style.
Thank you Dana! I still have bangs, I indeed just push them up into the style when I do it like this :) Though my hair needs a trim so I can be freshly bobbed. No booking a haircut just now though of course!
May you wear your beautiful clothes in the best of health. Best wishes and good health to you, your family and all your followers. At least it’s sunny here in Adelaide as we practice social distancing - the virtual goddesses and gods contribute so much to mental health. Thank you again.
Thank you Kaye! Wishing good health and courage to you down there too! <3
LOVE the wrap top!! I love wrap-style anything, really.
Thank you Caitlin!
