15th of June, day one of actually filming the next look book. I was hoping to get six looks on "film", and in the end I spent a few hours faffing with the lighting, filmed 3 looks, and hated the footage once I got it in the computer. After all that sewing and set prep, it just wasn't working.
22nd of June, day one(ish) of filming the next look book. Spent another two hours completely rearranging the lights. Filmed one look as a test. Liked the lighting MUCH BETTER (whew). Four looks filmed. The silver filigree mail look probably does need that silver corset for full wow factor, so we'll see if I can magic that into existence.
I have edited the first couple minutes of the video. Luckily I have had the music and other asset stuff picked out and ready for months!
Two more shoot days, one potential corset, the lining for a jacket, a few more sequins, and a big mermaid skirt to go (if that fabric gets here in time). I very much feel like I'm jinxing it to say I hope Sanctus is coming out soon, on the very worst holiday of the year, the fourth of July. Happy early Halloween instead.
Related: I miss writing, so last night I 'accidently' opened one of my scratch paper documents where I write extra chapters that exist outside of the actual book plots/narrative with the same characters. Proceeded to disappear from midnight to around 3am into the world of words. Today I feel 600% times more energized from a few hours of editing than I would have from a full 8 hours of sleeping. My brain is lighter than it has felt in weeks. Writing is the best drug, even better than sequins, and that is really saying something.
Haircut this week at last before I film the rest. Here's hoping I don't have to re-edit this teaser with a different release date. Cross your fingers for me, as like all artists I shall continue to torture myself a tiny bit longer to make it so.
Why exactly? Because I don't know any different silly. Thank you for your support! I hope you will like all this nonsense I've been brewing.

This looks beautiful! All of your lookbooks are stunning, but I can see you putting more and more of yourself into each one. Please try and look after yourself... I'm sure this will be worth the effort, but I'm hoping for longevity!
Loving that you find a theme and really lean into the look!! It's so creative and Inspiring to really put a whole vibe together, especially helpful for Ren faire or an eclectic wardrobe where you have pieces that are versatile enough to mix and match
I did about half an hour on Saturday night (wooo party animal) of just getting some notes down on a writing project I'm not currently working on but the brain would not let go, and it's kind of amazing how much that can clean the brain, isn't it?
