I am so glad you do this and really appreciate it. I really identified with your comment about not feeling worthy of dressing the way you wanted. I started sewing my own garments as a pre-teen with the help of my mom and 4-H. Unfortunately I never really learned how to fit to my own body shape with is more of the apple shape. Definitely not the standard for either ready to wear or patterns so nothing has really fit. I love the 50s hourglass silhouette and I've come to really like the 40s style stuff. My goal for the last year has been to start sewing my garments. To get the styles I want in the fabrics I want. However, I'm still really struggling with adjusting the sloper pattern to my personal shape. This week I started watching your videos again and I had an epiphany! Make a too big sloper and then take it in for alterations! My husband has been getting his stuff altered for the last year and so I asked his alterations lady and she said she would help me. So now we're working on getting my space cleaned back up so I can start on this project again. So thank you again for being here, sharing, and just being you.

The Fallen Order games have gotten to one of. my comfort outlets in the last couple of years. Nothing like a pandemic, climate change and *waves hands everyhere* to just want to do wall runs and bop jerks with a big laser

Fun fact, my brother was the world record speed runner for the first Fallen Order game for a while 😅✨ I still have never tried it, I'm saving it for a treat!

Thanks for an interesting Q&A video! Re: movie costumes. A couple of years ago, after watching a video of yours in which you talked about Lilli Ann suits, I poked around for them on Etsy. I saw an ivory one with a really interesting design, and took screenshots for potential future inspiration. Fast forward to the release of the trailer for “The Outfit,” and I saw that one of the characters was wearing that exact same suit!

Oh I haven't watched that one yet but I want to!!

Btw, as someone who walks by the Dries Van Noten store a lot I am sorry to say that A) the current summer collection is hella boring B) he's retiring right now

Outstanding Q&A. Wholeheartedly admire your stunningly eclectic style evolution. To quote a popular Meme: Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Thank you Victoria!!

Love your look books!!!! Shine was my fave & I was wonderfully surprised. I find it almost unbelievable that they don't do well. I just turned 60 (your cats & I share a b-day) & I could totally relate to your musings on your younger self. We seem to have had some of the same issues. I quit caring what others think when I was about your age. Now, I REALLY don't care & aren't afraid to say it, rudely if need be. Looking forward to reading your fiction. Love everything you do, Lady Bianca.

Thank you Heidi! And Happy belated Birthday!!

I absolutely love your look books. It's like being at New York Fashion week without paying the price of being there. It's gives me inspiration that I too can make my own look book by designing my own clothing line just for me. I just adore your channel and love being a part of your Patreon as well. You are the reason why I'm working on fitting my own sloper so I can make clothes that fit me and my style.

Thank you Dani! You will have a whole custom wardrobe in no time!

I’m not very good at long written comments. There’s too much to say. So simply—I THINK YOU ARE A GEM⭐️

T
The Closet Historian · March 19, 2024

Thank you Nancy! I shall endeavor to be a gem! (a green one probably let's face it)

I love your look books! Some of the Armani Privé fashion shows (and others in your inspiration playlist) have fewer views!🤔 Also, I like how you talk with your hands.👏

T
The Closet Historian · March 19, 2024

Thank you Penny! The Italian in me needs gestures 😂 A lot of the fashion shows from 6+ years ago and such are re-uploads on random channels becuase the brands often have them taken down, so they never get a chance to go viral unless the brands themselves are livestreaming them from the get go really.

Thank you for the sincere Q&A. I had to leave a comment to let you know that your determination in encouraging people to learn pattern drafting has made an impact on me! I'm learning so much about manipulating basic blocks and have made a simple pencil skirt. I also picked up your way of inserting waistbands and lapped zippers. 😊🙌

Oh Bianca, I love your honesty and integrity. I would think your younger self would at least be impressed by that, and by your amazing wardrobe! Your creations are truly so special and really inspire me 🖤 thanks for everything you do and for sharing it with us!

Thank you Nicole! Younger me was so mean to me, I do not envy her 😂

Wendy Walker · March 18, 2024

Thanks for making my night! Great chat today. I really “got” the younger me discussed, I’ve evolved several times and at 54 it’s quite a ride. See you again soon.

T
The Closet Historian · March 19, 2024

Thank you Wendy!

Okay, but how amazing would a big apothecary cabinet but the tiny cabinets are filled with beads and sequins be?

S
Sarah · March 18, 2024

Ooo yes, seconded! And if you ever manage to find anything like a haberdashery cabinet that isn't crazy expensive--it would be a perfect matching vibe, too!

Cheryl Rosbak · March 18, 2024

That bit about your younger self, you worded that wonderfully.

Thank you Cheryl ❤

I really enjoy your Look Book videos.

Me too!! I LOVE seeing the whole vision and styling of all the pieces❤️

Kiara H · March 18, 2024

This was really wonderful and I related to a lot of what was discussed especially the younger self part and not having a house yet. I'm really shocked the look books don't do well on the channel, I watch them over and over because they are so inspirational. Thank you for all you do and the content you put out, one of my goals is to be able to see something I like and pattern draft it like you and thanks to you I'm getting better.

T
The Closet Historian · March 19, 2024

Thank you Kiara! Sewing or beading videos are likely to get way more views, but as long as some people "get" the look books, I will keep making them! ❤

Craig Burman-Vince · March 18, 2024

Thank you for this, a wonderful and honest insight into you and what you do. I think the costuming in O Caesar is great. Tilda Swinton’s wardrobe especially (mind you, Tilda Swinton’s wardrobe in most of her movies, TBH). Also, The Women is one of my favourite movies. “Zips up the back and no bones!” there was a screening at the BFI in London many years ago, fan-bleeping-tasting. Bette Davis’ costumes in Now, Voyager…

T
The Closet Historian · March 19, 2024

The hats in that film are especially awesome, and I agree Tilda's costumes were fantastic in general! Tilda is indeed usually looking fantastic in any role, one of my favorite actors for sure 😍

Marie Eaton-Smith · March 18, 2024

This was wonderful, I really enjoyed the chat and Q&A. As you say a lot of the Qs you have addressed previously. Try not to be sad that your younger self would be disappointed in your/her life now. I don't think there is anyone who feels different. Those types of Qs are depressing - to me anyway! You are doing great, I really enjoy listening to you and learning from you, and I am 68!!!!!!!!!!!! How did that happen???????? Give yourself a pat on the back please? xx

T
The Closet Historian · March 19, 2024

Thank you Marie! Yeah I am always quite happy for but also confused by people who's younger selves would be pleased for them, surely that is more unusual than the reverse 😅 Maybe other folks aren't perfectionists, which must be nice ha!
