Functional Book of Hours Mod
Edit: Fixed an issue where the books weren't showing up in the bookcase.
A historical mod which adds two variants of a 'Book of Hours'.
A Book of Hours is basically a Christian prayer book designed to guide the spiritual life of a religious person. These prayers were read at specific times of the day. They were most popular in the Middle Ages.
I have included two variants, one for a richer sim and one for a poorer.
Expensive Book of Hours were often richly detailed with colourful images and decorations, whereas more affordable options were quite basic.
You may be most familiar with Anne Boleyn's book of hours, which you can read more about here.
You can buy these books from any bookcase.
When clicking on a Book of Hours that has been removed from the bookcase (the general bookcase 'Read' name will override my custom names when choosing from a bookcase), the interaction available will be based on the time of day.
For example, if your sim was to read first thing in the morning between the hours of 6am and 9am, they would get the interaction 'Prepare for the Day with Prime'.
Whereas if they were to read late at night between the hours of 9pm and 12am, they get the interaction 'Wind Down with Compline'.
You can also set a reminder notification for your sims to read during specific prayer hours by shift-clicking on your sim and navigating to 'Toggle Prayer Reminders'.
You can mix and match them, have them all turned on or keep them all off.
This mod REQUIRES Lot51's CoreLibrary: LINK
Enjoy!

Will this mod ever get updated, as it's currently broken for my historical save?
Hi, please provide details of your bug so I can recreate in my own game and fix.
Hello I'm new and I thinks your stuff is very beautiful but one mod I noticed is completely broken I cannot get it to work and that is the omegaverse — llazyneiph now I really would love to see if you can Update this beautiful mod if you can if not your other mods and cc are just too beautiful.
A Christian book for a secular person. Yeah, that makes sense...
Oops, my bad! Edited.
I've had my sims read the book but didn't realize this mod did all this cool stuff!
I cannot find the book either.
Hi, the book is not showing on any book case. Does it have to be in the Mods folder directly?
Can't find the book
It's in the bookcase under Book of Hours and Basic Book of Hours
Hi, so I have tried using only this mod with just lot51 core in my game and have been unable to find the book in the book shelf to purchase. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if there is another mod I need to have?
This is lovely, definitely using it, thank you so much! <3
this links in with my christian spirituality class
I love it! And as luck would have it, I am playing a cleryman's family at the moment in regency royal save! Thank you for sharing! It looks beautiful!
