Devlog - Update 0.90.01 / Audio update

Hi folks,
It has been two weeks since the release of the big 0.90.00 update. How do you like it ? I think that's my best work to date. Now that it's released, we obviously need to look ahead.

Audio Update

I’ve already spent some time on it before release of 0.90.00, but this round I’m aiming to finish it and overhaul much of the game’s sound. While the game did have a few sounds and moans, the sex scenes were clearly under‑produced. The main focus of audio update will be the sound design for sex scenes like proper moans, slaps, orgasm sounds, etc. We will see if this will be released with 0.90.01 or next update after that.

On a similar note, I’ve been researching how to add quality voice acting. I’ve contacted several voice actresses, talking about staring in my game, researched how to add voices properly etc... As mentioned in the roadmap, my aspirational goal is to include voice acting in the game; however, this feature is something for after 1.0 and it might not come at all.

Endings

Now that we have finished the 0.90.00 release, the next update 0.90.01 will introduce part of one of the endings. Much like the Iris‑Fiona alternative arc, I will work on them one after another instead of all at once.

Since the 0.90.00 release, I have been redoing most of my rough endings to bring them up to main‑story standards and incorporate the small changes I made while working on In Her Service (those endings were designed before I started rendering the first event of the game). Yesterday I finished most of that work, so the game will now feature 13 endings.

Each ending will consist up to ten events, and because these events won't have to cover all the various permutations of story and character choices, they should be much faster to produce than the final events of the main story.

The next update 0.90.01 will be around medium size wise. Which ending it will cover will be revealed with the update itself. It should come around end of the year :)

Two years

It has been almost two years since I publicly released the first playable version of my game (v0.39). Thanks to your support, I was able to finish the main story, and now only the final stretch remains. In my original estimate I planned to complete the game by the end of this year, but during production I added Flowchart, which enabled me to create alternate POVs that extended production a bit. After doing some calculations, if everything goes well we should finish all endings around Summer 2026. After that there will be two to three polishing updates and then the 1.0 launch of the game. I can't wait for that !

Your support has been awesome since I started this game, and it has allowed me to breathe easier when it comes to personal finances. Since then, I upgraded my PC to the best rig possible for work, got an awesome business‑grade VR headset to create those animations, and paid off some of the debts I owed. With things going well thanks to your support, I really hope that with the 1.0 release I will be able to move toward full‑time game development completely. As some of you know, right now I work half time at my job and half time on my game, roughly two weeks a month on the game and two weeks working my job.

As mentioned regarding voice acting, I have some aspirational goals for In Her Service.

I had previously thought this might not be possible, but after some thinking and discussion with various voice actresses I now believe it will be doable. That said, the Enchanted Edition will be released well after 1.0—during the production of the next game. You can see its roadmap on my Discord.
