Listener Neurodivergency Level Poll πŸŽ§πŸ’•

Hey, you all! πŸ’•

I wanted to make this poll post to ask to see how many of my listeners (you) are neurodivergent and what type of neurodivergency you are dealing with, and/or how many of you are neurotypical listeners as well, pick whichever of these ten options best matches your particular neurological condition, you can choose multiple as it's possible to have multiple of these conditions at the same time~

I've made videos/posts in the past where I mentioned this, but I myself am what is considered "AuDHD" which is a combination of both Autism and ADHD, its definitely a struggle, but it helps so much in doing the things I actually enjoy for a living, and that's all thanks to you all, and I am so grateful for all of your support, you have no idea how much it means to me to have a community of such engaged listeners~ πŸ’•πŸ’•

I really want to make a vlog series where I go more into depth and detail about my experience(s) as an NSFW VA/"ASMRtist" as well as my experience with AUDHD; let me know in the comments if you'd like me to do something like that~ =3

And I very much encourage you all to write a comment describing your experience with your particular neurodivergency and how you deal with it in your day-to-day lives, as well as you experiences with neurotypical people or if you're not neurodivergent, perhaps share some experiences you've had with neurodivergent people, either in family or friends, or in everyday life, I really want to read from you all when it comes to this topic~ πŸ’•

I have Aspergers syndrome and adhd I was given medication to help but when I took it I was a zombie my dad took me off it and I was just fine I will also say the doctor in question also said to my dad that I was having a seizure during an examination when I was just looking out the window my dad asked me what I was doing and I said looking out the window he was really mad and went to another doctor for a second opinion that’s when we got the full diagnosis

Yeah, meds work for some, don't work for others. I don't aim to tell people what to do since some may truly benefit from it, but the dependency of the meds is just a huge downside to me, like, what if the pharmaceuticals all of a sudden stop distributing those medications, what them? Sort of my mindset, I've raw-dogged my condition all my life so starting now wouldn't make sense anyway

I feel bad for the ones with both ADHD and Autism, I got my ADHD when I was 6 and my Autism when I was like 11-12 maybe even 13, I broke down when the doc told me and my mom called me in sick to school, now my brother has both as well, lucky thing is that he got both diagnosis at a young age

For my experience of course, it's like living as a living contradiction, though both aspects make up for each other's weaknesses, either could at any point overtake the other for a period of time with a hint of the other's presence similar to a candle about to flicker out, anything other than perfect balance between the two is kinda hellish since dealing with one is enough but then to deal with another in unequal yolk is crazy, short story, the highs are like cloud nine and lows are dante's inferno, lmao

I suffer from "high-functioning" autism, though I'm not entirely sure what that would equate to under this leveling scale, perhaps they reclassified it recently? Anyhow, it's been quite a challenge for me, especially academically, where it was quite common for me to just draw a complete blank as to what is required of me; if my instructions are not clear and concise, I just shut right down. I don't necessarily have difficulty making eye contact with others, especially in a serious context, but I've always found it to be a heavy expenditure of energy or willpower. Nowadays, I have been able to become reasonably independent, but I do have to fall back on my family to assist me with any bureaucratic affairs.

Yeah, I basically sucked in school to the point of becoming a dropout in HS, I did, however, go back to get my diploma later on, but yeah this was all before I or any of my immediate family knew of my condition

Level 1 Autism, but I think I may have ADHD as well

I see, like I said with others before the best thing any of us can do is heavily research these kind of things to get a better understanding of this as well as ourselves in the process

Level 1 autism, though I've got some areas I need help in.

I'm very happy you did, growing up and even now I'm kinda without a support system for the most part, but still doing decent thankfully enough

Today I learned that what was previously called Asperger's is now Level 1 ASD. But defining it as needing support feels off, so maybe I am like level 0.75. I manage to get by, but social interaction is more like a learned skill, rather than something that seems to come naturally to most others.

M
MiyukiVA & ASMR Β· July 12, 2025

I tend not to use "Asperger's" as a term to describe Level 1 since the term is based on a guy who is known to have done very cruel things and conducted crude experiments on autistic people, so the majority of the neurodivergent community now uses Level 1/2/3

I might have ADHD but I definitely grew up with Autism though, high functioning autism to be precise.

M
MiyukiVA & ASMR Β· July 12, 2025

So Level 1, I see, and as long as you're well informed about the aspects of ADHD and how it functions, there's a lot of "trends' online where people are essentially taking ADHD and turning into a trivial thing in which symptoms "everyone basically has" which is becoming a big issue since those with actual ADHD are not seen as valid like they should

I have level 2 ASD. I don't usually talk about myself, but I can at least handle being around a small number of people.😢

It isn't easy for me to deal with people IRL, because i just cant see with them eye to eye, and i often feel that i am able to see things that they cant "Leaving it up to you how to interpret it". But if i am who i am because of my "Condition" then i am glad to have it, And this isn't the first time i said that. But it isnt easy if others treat you like you are stupid or below them.

M
MiyukiVA & ASMR Β· July 12, 2025

Yeah eye contact is definitely a difficulty when it comes to this, and tbh, life under this sort of condition is all about learning how to put yourself into a mindset of "fuck what others think of me" since that's the last thing we should be concerned with considering how we must also tend a lot more to our mental/emotional states than the "regular" person

Im pretty sure I'm a 1 and a half. I struggle with daily living tasks. I think I have some OCD as well

M
MiyukiVA & ASMR Β· July 12, 2025

I see, well, make sure to take a step at a time, don't force yourself to insane expectations, also I didn't add OCD to the list because it's *technically* not considered a form of neurodivergence, however, it can still be a side condition to ADHD and/or autism

It's crazy that AuDHD dual diagnosis wasn't a valid thing for so long...

M
MiyukiVA & ASMR Β· July 12, 2025

AUDHD is still very valid, and considered a medical diagnosis as valid as the previous two
