Three Year Anniversary

It's been three years this month since I began this Patreon.

In that time, I've posted so much here, and made connections with so many of you, and been able to do so much (including creating a human child) because of your support.

I say it so often, but especially in this massively difficult and uncertain time for all of us, gratitude isn't a big enough word. Not only your patronage keeps me going as an artist and a person who likes to eat and sleep in a warm place, but your comments and interaction makes me feel less alone on the little island in the sea where I live. You guys are family. Thank you so much for sticking with me all this time, for reading and subscribing and being part of my continued existence on planet earth.

The first year anniversary, I opened up all the posts for patrons at all levels to read. That, naturally, sent a butt-ton of notifications to everyone's email and annoyed the stitches out of all of us. The second year, I posted some hard-to-find ebooks for all of you.

I'd like to keep finding gifts to give on each anniversary. So what would you guys like this year? More ebooks? Do you want to brave the notifications? A poetry collection? A drawing of something you choose which will be hilarious as I am not good at that? Something I could livestream (a game, karaoke/singalong, movie night, live reading of something of mine or someone else's, Heath and I could do some Shakespeare...)? Something I haven't thought of but you can tell me in the comments?

Leave a comment and tell me your preferences or thoughts and I'll go with what the majority want.

I love you all, and am so grateful for what you've given me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Here's to another year.

Would love poetry! But will happily devour any offering at all. Stay safe and happy and healthy <3

I vote Shakespeare, and ebooks as second choice.

Cat, I’m a patron because I would be sad to live in a world without all the voices you bring to your writing, and I need to do something to help prevent that world. Shakespeare sounds lovely, though most of the best stuff is the monologues. I don’t know, maybe The climax between Shylock and Portia? Or maybe one of the exchanges between Titania and Oberon? Although I would love sometime to see you perform some of Viola’s lines from Twelth Night.

And I kind of like the Shakespeare idea, but which? Though it might not matter too much if you do a bit of adaptation? Make it uniquely Cat? No idea. Just thinking.

I will also vote against the email storm. :) Ebooks are great, I also enjoy hilarious drawings and being read to.

Happy Patreon anniversary! Glad you're safe at home. ^^More ebooks sound good for me, or maybe unlocking just a handful of posts-- no notification flood, but a few nice surprises to read? Poetry would also be lovely.

Catherynne, you have been, and always will be, our joy here. Whatever you choose to do will be beautiful..but if you're asking, I'm always up for poetry, or Shakespeare.

It's probably going to be a while before y'all can visit another museum, but I've been hearing that many museums offer virtual visits. Maybe you and Heath could do your MST3K (Museum Science Theater 3000) thing for us while doing one of those virtual visits?

If you are going to do something that you think might result in another avalanche of notifications, please let us know beforehand. That first-anniversary avalanche resulted in my email service permanently regarding *all* communication from Patreon as spam. I had to change the email address that my Patreon used, just to get email notifications again. (Note: I appreciate you so much and I do not blame you for enthusiastically taking a generous action that had unforeseen consequences. I'd just like to not have to create a new email account again just to get Patreon notifications.)

I’m so sorry, we honestly had no idea it was going to do that, and we’re horrified when they all started coming in
