Hurricane Update!
Hey guys, just an update:
Power has been out about 24 hours. All the kids slept in the living room except Mercia who slept in our room. It got really loud and we could hear things beating against the windows. I spent the majority of yesterday putting up hurricane shields on the windows with my neighbor.
We have some roof damage, but by the looks of everyone else in the neighborhood, we got off lucky. We've been cleaning up debris for most of the day. Ive been filming a vlog of the whole experience so youll see it eventually.
No internet, and even our phones are extremely spotty. I tried uploading a video walk through of the neighborhood this morning, just from my phone, and it wouldn't go through. I couldn't even make this post until now (and hopefully THIS goes through).
Pappal's house had about 9 large trees fall on the property but miraculously missing the house itself. It looks like the house in the middle and then surrounding it on all sides are fallen trees.
No word yet on when power will return. Will likely be a few days. Fortunately, we had a small chill follow the hurricane so we're in the 70's or so right now, so it's not unbearably hot like usual.
We have hot water! Wasn't expecting that. I guess our water heater has a propane tank or something, but thats a blessing for sure. Hopefully it'll last. I distinctly remember when Hurricane Ivan hit, we were without power and hot water for 3 weeks. Currently under a boil notice, but we still have a lot to be thankful for.
Thanks for supporting us everyone, and i hope you get some entertainment out of the content dump before the storm. We're anxious to get back and rolling on our end for sure.

Must have missed the original post, but glad to hear everyone made it out ok! Can't imagine living in a place where Hurricanes are a regular thing, seems crazy scary.
