Holden's Dragon Ball Code-Breakers Game (New Beta Build)

Transformations now have cutscenes. When a fighter crosses a power threshold, you get a full "A Power Awakens" sequence. The previous form, a flash, and the reveal of the new form, with character-specific dialogue. There are 64 of these (Saiyans going Super Saiyan 1/2/3, Frieza's forms, Cell's forms, and more).

71 new character portraits. The roster art jumped from ~106 to 177 portraits. New additions include the Universe 7 gods (Beerus, Whis, Champa, Vados, Grand Zeno), the Tournament of Power fighters (Jiren, Toppo, Dyspo, Caulifla, Kale, Cabba, Hit, Frost), Super-era Goku and Vegeta forms (God, Blue, Ultra Instinct, Master Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego), Goku Black and Rosé, the Moro and Gas arcs, and Super Buu's absorption forms.

Every character's special moves were rebuilt for accuracy. I went through the whole roster and corrected attacks to match the characters. For example: Gotenks now actually has Galactic Donut and the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, Future Trunks has his sword, Android 16 has Hell's Flash, Bardock has Final Spirit Cannon, and a bunch of fighters that were using generic or borrowed moves now have their real signature attacks.

Training got a real overhaul.

  • Location affinities: characters train better in places that suit them (Saiyans in the Gravity Chamber, etc.) for a +30% XP bonus, and the game shows you which fighters are best for each spot.

  • Breakthroughs: sessions can occasionally "break through" for a big XP surge.

  • Flavor: finishing a session now shows an in-character line instead of just a number.

New option: skip pre-battle dialogue. There's a toggle in Options (on by default) to turn off the character-vs-enemy interactions and jump straight into the fight. Great for grinding.

Visual polish.

  • Removed every emoji across the game in favor of clean text and typography for a more consistent, polished look.

  • Fixed how portraits with unusual shapes get cropped in the small roster avatars, so faces aren't cut off anymore.

Bug fixes.

  • Fixed a case where a transformation cutscene could get skipped if you beat a recruitable enemy at the exact moment you unlocked a transformation (multiple reward screens were colliding). They now play in a clean sequence.

  • General code cleanup and stability pass.

Things to Look Out For

  • This is still a beta. Expect rough edges. That's what you're here to find.

  • Progress saves to your specific device. If you clear your browser data, or play in private/incognito mode, your progress resets. Don't use incognito for a real run.

  • First load is a little heavy (the app is around 23MB with all the art and music), so give it a few seconds the first time. After that it's cached and loads instantly, even offline.

  • A couple of art edge cases we already know about: one of Kale's transformation images may not be the exact form it's labeled, and a few very wide portraits can look tightly cropped in the small circular avatars. Flag any others you spot.

Feedback We're Looking For

The most useful things you can tell us:

  1. Difficulty and pacing. Is the early game too hard, too easy, or about right? Does leveling/training feel too slow or too fast?

  2. Do transformations trigger reliably? When you cross a threshold, do you see the cutscene every time?

  3. Move accuracy. Is there any character whose special attacks feel wrong or un-characteristic? Name the character and I'll fix it.

  4. Portraits. Any portrait that looks badly cropped, stretched, or just wrong?

  5. Performance on your phone. Stutters, long loads, crashes, or anything freezing up, and which phone you're on.

  6. Anything that breaks. Soft-locks, buttons that don't respond, screens you get stuck on. Screenshots help a ton.

For iPhone / iPad Users

A few iPhone-specific things to know:

  • Install with Safari, not Chrome. Open the link in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with the up arrow), then "Add to Home Screen." Launch it from that icon and it runs full-screen like a real app. (Chrome on iPhone can't install web apps. This is an Apple limitation, not the game.)

  • Use Mystery Codes instead of the camera. The live camera scanner isn't supported on iPhone (an Apple/iOS limitation), so the game automatically points you to the Mystery Codes button. It does the same thing and works perfectly. You're not missing anything; the Mystery Codes pull from the same pool.

  • Sound starts after your first tap. iPhones block audio until you interact with the page, so music/SFX kick in once you tap something. That's normal, not a bug.

  • If something looks off, fully close the app (swipe it away) and reopen it. That forces it to grab the latest version.

Pretty intriguing so far. Just beat a Pilaf machine and am training with piccolo. Can’t access my camera to scan on iphone safari tho

That'll be an ongoing problem for iPhone, but I tried adding a ton more "manual" codes so you can still play around with it.
