The Next Chapter
and what it means for our patrons...
Hey everyone,
With Epilogue released, I wanted to talk about what comes next and clear up what “finished” means for The Spider-Lair. After over eight years, it’s reached the point where I’m ready to call its major development complete. The Lair is still here, I’m still here, and our community is continuing. I’ll keep maintaining the world with bug fixes and tweaks, and we’re still holding our weekly events.
All of your existing Patreon benefits are staying the same and will continue functioning as they do now. You can keep enjoying everything your membership gives you in the Lair. There are also apartment spaces available for anyone interested in having a custom apartment in the world, along with graffiti spaces at the skate park. If you’d like to get involved with either, reach out so we can go over the details.
As for what’s next, Matt and I are starting an original standalone VR swinging adventure game, with plans for a story, co-op, and more. We want to carry forward the sense of freedom and fun that made the Lair special while building our own characters, world, and gameplay. It won’t be a Spider-Man game, but it will share the spirit of what you’ve enjoyed in the Lair, with room to take those ideas further.
It’s an ambitious project, and we’re at the beginning. There’s plenty to work out, but we’re bringing everything we’ve learned from the Lair into it, and I’m excited to start sharing that process with you.
This Patreon will be the home for our next project. I’ll be posting news, progress, and development updates here as it takes shape. Your continued support will help fund that work and give us the time to build it, just as it did for the Lair. Reaching this milestone doesn’t mean your support is needed any less. It’s what helps us take the next step.
If you haven’t already, connect your Discord account to Patreon so you can access the patron channels, join the conversation, and stay in touch with us as we work on the new game. We’d love to hear from you, and I hope you’ll keep joining us for our weekly events too.
Thank you for helping turn a little hangout world into something that changed my life. I’m proud of where we’ve brought the Lair, and being able to call it finished means I get to take everything it taught me and start something new with you.
❤️ Bronx
